  1. Ok, so what if I just wanted to sell it, does anyone know what would be a fare asking price? I mean I have heard numbers all over the place depending on who I talk to. Does anyone have any suggestions for an asking price? The miles are at 87k, and new carpeting throughout, new upholstery, new curtains, full tune-up, and brand new kyb shocks all around. Everything works good, I mean everything. Any input apprishiated.
  2. ok i fixed it you can look at them now, try it again
  3. Ok try going to these links and see if that works. I think it was because i posted these pics as private on accident and i dont know how to change it and i dont have them on my comp anymore. http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.ph...si&img=1407 http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.ph...si&img=1405 http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.ph...si&img=1406 I dont have any more pics of that fish, in fact if the hot chick at the fish and game check station had not mentioned getting a picture of it i would not have gotten even that picture lol, and I wanted to mount it but it had a computer chip in its nose and they cut the top part of his face off right after that picture.
  4. The spark plug ordeal; when I replaced one of the spark plugs it brought half of the threads with it. But I was able to get the new one in tight enough that everything was ok, afterwords I took it on a 300 mile round trip without a single problem and got 25mpg fully loaded. So the next time the spark plugs need to be replaced this issue would have to be addressed but otherwise should be fine I have replaced all the shocks and did a full tune-up on it. Also put a new valve cover gasket on it. I was extremely surprised how very clean it was on the inside. I was just kind of throwing this topic out there too see if anyone would be interested at all if not I wont cry because I do love this camper. I do have a bunch of inside pics that you can access by going to my profile and clicking on the gallery tab and then view all gallery files. If you really want I can take some pics of the outside, let me know what you think.
  5. I'm kind of just throughing this out there but my wife is pregnant again so i dont think the good old chinook is going to be big anuf for us anymore and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trading me for a little bit bigger camper. Details to be discused of course, other than the spark plug ordeal it is in very good shape and gets about 25mpg. I just replaced the carpet and upholstery. If this is anything that would be possible at all let me know that you may be interested. I may even be open to just selling it I'm not quite sure yet. Tell me what you think.
  6. No, I haven't had time to do anything to it yet this winter. Plus I work in car sales and things are down just a little bit. Having a bit of a project funding problem lol.
  7. I'll bet that it gets pretty good gas mileage, and that pop open back end would be really handy.
  8. Check out this pop-up sunrader on ebay. It needs a little work but man would i love to have this. In all my toyota motorhome searching I have never seen one like this. It even has a big door on the back, but apparently it is broken. 1988 sunraider http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_RVs-Camper...A1%7C240%3A1318
  9. it could still be the battery, ive heard of brand new batteries up and breaking all the sudden whithout warning. i would take it out and take it down to autozone or checkers or where ever you have close and get them to test it for you before you replace it. If the battery is fine then you will know that there is a problem else where.
  10. my first trip with my 78 chinook i went about 500 miles round trip and averaged 23mpg at 65 mph the whole way. That was all the more i dare push her, after all she is an old girl.
  11. i found a 1983 toyota helix that runs and everything i have never seen one in person before and dont know much about them i was just wondering if anyone know if they have any notorius problems that i should watch for though i think that this one will have to be pretty bad for me not to buy it because the guy only wants $300 for it. I'm going to go look at it tomorrow. I've seen some of the newer ones in magazines but never seen one of the older ones, from what i understand they have a long wheel base.

  15. Ya im not really sure eather, he told me that the gear ratios were farther apart in the new tranny or something like that that made it wider or something, doesnt make sence to me eather. The plane is to swap my 78 chinook camper body over on to a 4x4 frame. I dont think the swap would be all that hard on the long box, the short box will probably require lots of modification, im going to go over there and measure the distance from the cab to the center of the axle on sun, and he was saying that we may be able to work something out. But that something better be pretty sweet i think.
