  1. I have a small travelling biz and am happy to know now that my pit bull is tax deduct able!...she too takes her RV duties serious...not to protect me as people love to think, but to protect HER DOGHOUSE...HAHA! Yup, the cocker spaniel is the 'biting-est' dog...the problem with pits is when they F UP...THEY REALLY F UP! Some of the most unprovoked attacks I have witnessed involved German and Belgian shepherds...my pit loved everyone until she was attacked by an Australian shepherd...kept trying to bite her face...she got fed up and went for its throat...it survived but she now has no tolerance for stupid dogs in her face....except for her boyfriend, Hudson---a miniature dachshund....don't even ask.
  2. I have had ladies start freaking out that the dog was in the camper even when I came to the window telling them I was in there too! I have been in the RV with the dog on a 90 degree day at the beach with breeze and when curtains closed really was quite comfy...never leave a dog in a closed air conditioned car...you will b arrested.
  3. The mechanic had me start it with radiator cap off and warm it up so he could make sure coolant was flowing...the check engine light flashed on, he told me why, I can't remember but it was unrelated....ran it for awhile with cap off, it didn't overheat in idle....I think this is called 'burping' or getting air out.
  4. I think they reused the gasket...but you know a Toyota parts sales clerk can be a wealth of free info....I am no expert...maybe my radiator was already gone? Let me know what u do...I am now afraid to drive mine...I never broke down on the side of the road in it b4....
  5. I am thinking I might have ruined the whole cooling system with these stupid aftermarket stats.
  6. My new problem is after he replaced drive belt it now screeches going uphill...hoping it just need tightening....but don't want to bring it in again.
  7. Before I put in the lower temp tstat I put in a higher temp tstat and when it was warming up would raise almost all the way to the red then come down...another auto zone tstat...drove me nuts.
  8. I had a problem where I went to fill gas at new gas stations and I couldn't get gas to pump into tank...the handle release would trigger...luckily was across street from advance and they told me to go to a full service gas station to fill...well full service guy filled it up no problem...I asked him what he did and he said he fills it with nozzle upside down...worked like a charm...I have helped a lot of people with this solution at gas stations...they get so happy!
  9. The sad part is I waited to install Toyota tstat and ended up blowing hole in radiator and snapping drive belt...on highway...expensive tow...all for a stinking ten dollar tstat....somebody shoot me please.
  10. Order at Toyota dealership...I put in a lower temp tstat for the mountains, and everything started acting screwy...overheating in idle but cool as a whistle climbing mountains...Googled problem and read about dual tstat...parts lady at toyota told me all systems depend on tstat...bond auto parts knew absolutely nothing about it.
  11. Toyota made a two holed thermostat for forty bux to solve overheating problems.
  12. Lake talquin has a great free campground on the lake outside Tallahassee fl...I have found the hosts, rangers and police in that area to be some of the friendliest I have come in contact with.
  13. Or someone who rebuilds them...86 Toyota dolphin. I am in vermont.
  14. I've had storage units that allowed me to used unit as art studio, usually have public restrooms, have seen others using them as mechanic garage and other small businesses.
  15. NYC is nothing like it was in the 70s...its quite vanilla, people are nice...honking is illegal...the blacks and Puerto ricans are FUN!
  16. I think full public nudity is still legal in brattleboro...always hearing about the nudists parading around town...lol! I love Albany and upstate NY...
  17. He's not in a cesspool...its a multimillion dollar neighborhood...hell, I'd start a neighborhood collection and pay him to leave...beats giving money to red cross or some equally corrupt organization...I once paid a homeless lady in new Orleans twenty bux to drink her booze in front of my camper and keep an eye on the dog...she was so proud to have a job...told her homeless buddies she had to dogsit, and treated me like some divine intervener...
  18. She should a gone into detail about her first time doing it in her RV...I was once getting hot and heavy on the couch which had been pulled out, then BAMMM, the thing busted and we were spilled down on the ground....laughing until we cried....never forget it!
  19. I love all homeless people but john Gunn sucks...he is the reason people make laws against boondocking....
  20. I read this all this morning...very funny...thank you! She is one of my twin souls...lol!
  21. Cracker can also mean a person who has lived in northeast Florida for generations ie 'Florida cracker'...( I live in Jacksonville in winter lol)
  22. Ha ha....what I meant by dry lunch was that it was raining at the parade so lots of folks were stuck outside eating from outside food vendors getting wet...while dog and I were nice and dry in dolphin with cheese and dry salami...mmmm I did find a great free spot in Coney island 20 feet from boardwalk, stayed a whole week no problems! Pit bull joined me there as well and yes, its a different trip when she comes along---goes with me everywhere...I never stay out after dark....heading down again for west Indian parade...supposedly largest parade in the nation, will leave pepper at home as it will be HOT!
  23. Since I live in Vermont, my idea of a weekend jaunt is to the city, but have you seen lodging prices in Manhattan!! So, I got the brilliant idea of going down in the dolphin! For some reason it had never occurredto take it, like maybe it would be illegal or something...well, off I went, single female traveller with 70 lb pit bull...lol. the first night I stayed on central park west...not sure if it was legal but it was free, but what a location! The park stays open til 1am...my dog was in heaven! The next day I drove down to the village for the dance parade...it started to rain, but that was OK! I had found more free parking one block off Tompkins square park, so I hit the cheese shops and had a wonderful dry lunch in the RV...what a concept...and there were many new Yorkers dying to ask me their questions because it had never occurred to them either! No one else was doing it...I mean 8 million people and I had the only RV!
