  1. So I'm assuming this is the one that was near Pittsbugh Pa. Very cool unit. Another member here tried to buy it but never got a call back. I've seen Mirage motorhomes on Toyotas, Nissans and Chevy s10s but this is the only Ranger I've ever seen. Mirage of Elkhart was in business from 1979 until 1986. Yours might have been one of the last ones made. I seem to remember you have the model with the rear bath. Very important that you have tires that will hold the weight of you vehicle. Single or dual wheels in back and what size are the rims? So what is the condition? Does everything work. You probably need new headliner, most Mirages do. I'd get underneath too and look at your chassis frame extensions. It's possible that near the end of their production they would build on anything anyone brought in. Very possible your is a one of a kind. Congratulations. Linda S
  2. The guys at Cranes are the best. Propane fridges are all they do and they do them well. Had mine done almost 6 years ago and it still works perfect Linda S y
  3. The vin on my nissan Sunrader was off one digit but it was obvious a DMV worker had keyed in the wrong digit. If yours is completely different you might be in trouble. Rv manufacturers are not allowed to change vehicle vins. Does the title you have say Escaper or Toyota. try running the vin on the title you have on Motoverse. Free online vin check. it will tell you what vehicle the title matches http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vinDecoder.asp Linda
  4. There should be a panel in the front of the wheel well beneath the gas filler hole. take it out and you should have full axcess to the filler tube. It's riveted in. My Toyota Sunrader has had it removed in the past and they put it back in with screws. On my Nissan Sunrader it's just missing You can see everything you need to Linda Scott
  5. The best fridge repair available anywhere around here is Cranes in Vallejo. http://www.gasrefrigeration.net/ They do cooling unit repair and charge a very reasonable price. Fixed mine 6 years ago and still running strong Linda S
  6. Ther'e's a 4x4 Sunrader out there somewhere with a chevy 350 engine. I'm betting on him. If you want stock I've got a v6 Nissan that will blow any v6 Toyota Sunrader out of the water. Linda S
  7. My Sunraders are 86 too. Seems they switched to the newer style right after this. I bought the whole unit with the newer style lens for about 35 dollars on ebay. Fits the hole of the older ones exactly. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Bargman-Lighted-Door-Assist-Handle-RV-New-/140338537913?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20acd425b9 Linda S
  8. All-Rite also has a warehouse in Georgia. For some reason I thought you were on the west coast. Georgia's not too far. If you can find a mechanic or someone in the business, I believe they also do wholesale. Might be able to gat a cheaper price Linda
  9. This should be the right type paneling but exact match on the color I don't know, The nearest location to you is Holister, Ca and shipping might be quite expensive. If you decide this is the stuff you must have I can at least save you the trouble of making a serious color mistake. I'm about an hour from Holister and I have Sunraders so I could drive down there and see if I can find a match. I fact I will be going near there on the 22 of Feb. Email me directly and let me know http://www.all-rite.com/wall-paneling-p-128.html?osCsid=e4899990fe9d67abb6ce492d29e721fb Linda S
  10. Turtle the owner of toyota-campers group at yahoo took both of his windows out to polish them and the reinstalled them. He purchased the rubber molding at a local auto glass shop. Built a scaffold to stand on to work. The molding is very water tight as long as you install it right. As far as a group order I'm guessing Dean wouldn't do it. Someone said the window was 300 in 2005 and now 6 years later it's still only 375. Not a whole lot of increase there. If someone wants to call though it can't hurt to try. I need 2 for a Nissan Sunrader I'm restoring and a friend of mine also needs 2 for a Toyota Sunrader 4x4 that needs major work. Let me know what they say Linda S
  11. PPL motorhomes parts has a door I think will fit for $332. They are in Texas so if your in Oklahoma shipping shouldn't be too bad. Take a look http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-locks/rv-entry-doors.htm Linda S
  12. Odyssey also made a permanent rear bed model. Standard full size bed plus head room. I don't sleep in the overhead bed on my Sunrader because the ceiling is too close for me. Here is an example currently for sale. Your feet fit under the closet http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/rvs/2181305759.html Linda S
  13. The Odyssey rear dinette Mesa model has 2 facing sofas in back that make into a king size bed. The Dolphin has some similar models that will come close. Unfortunately the Sunrader is I think the narrowest of the toyhomes. Older Sunraders, 78 79, did have a sleep front to back set up and those were king size beds too but almost no living room and no pottie Linda S
  14. Just talked to Dean Elena at Advantage RV in Napa. He still owns the company, he still makes Sunrader windows and they are still 275 and 100 for installation. As far as the price, TAP plastics wanted to charge me 150 dollars just for the plexiglass sheet the size that was needed just to make the window. As far as whipping up one yourself, Randy in Salt Lake had his window guy, who has worked with plexiglass in the past, try to make one and he failed twice. It's a very large window and apparently not an easy job to do Linda Scott
  15. I called them last spring and the price was 275 for the window and 100 for installation. They need at least a month lead time bcause they only make them as needed. If you are unfortunate enough to have an older Sunrader with the larger front windows, up to 1980 or 81, you need to double that price. Linda
  16. These look like mine so they should look like yours too http://www.google.com/search?q=rv+sliding+window+lock&hl=en&prmd=ivns&source=univ&tbs=shop:1&tbo=u&ei=FMkrTYLJNI32tgPcvfCABg&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CDwQrQQwAg&biw=1260&bih=592 I didn't check for size so you should Linda S
  17. When I met you I mentioned that I had resealed all the windows in my Nissan Sunrader. I'm quite sure it had never been done before. There was no foam there and I only used butyl tape to reseal them. It's possible that because someone used that foam they bent the window frame out slightly so you couldn't reseal it properly. I would just go with a double layer of butyl tape to do the job. Linda S
  18. There are no 12 volt wires to the roof vent areas. I wired mine to the nearest light fixture running the wires along the ceiling. You can cover them with tape but I just used wire clips stuck to the ceiling. I don't konw where the water at your step is coming from. There is no way it's coming from the cab. More likely its just the underside of the step is rotted and it's coming in from holes that are there in the fiberglass. Step is removed in one of my Sunraders and there are screw holes and a step light hole ect. Your windows need to be all removed and resealed. I used butyl tape on mine. It lasts much longer and it's not as hard to use as many people think. Trick is to put it in the fridge before you try to work with it. It's also available in white which I think looks better than the gray putty stuff. I will be in Watsonville on Dec 12th at Pinto lake if you want to come by and ask questions. you can email me at Linda S
  19. This body style was only produced until 1988. In 1989 Toyota made major changes to the frame and body style. Any Toyota dealer should be able to give you info to verify this. Also Gardiner Pacific didn't make any 4x4's after 1988 because if they did they would have used a 6 cylinder chassis. I trust yours is a 4 cylinder 22re engine. Linda S
  20. There should be a little ring release valve somewhere near the water tank outlet. In my 18 foot Sunrader it's between the tank and the water pump. It will drain your tanl onto the ground. I just replaced my water pump too. 50 bucks on ebay. Linda
  21. This is the information I've found on the Nissan axles. The gearing is very different from the toys and I'm not mechanic so I wouldn't have a clue if it would fit. I do happen to have both a Nissan and a Toy Sunrader and there are alot of differences. The main one being the Nissan is a v6. Actually the first v6 Sunrader Garner-Pacific ever made. A certified Nissan mechanic told me my d21 is number 301. Was pretty much trashed and it's draining my bank account but needed to be saved. Here's the info http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f46/hardbody-1st-gen-axle-info-37358/ Linda
  22. For 4x4 owners still struggling with a 15 inch wheel in front and a 14 on the back or anyone who would like to upgrade to a larger wheel I recently discovered some Dodge Sprinters came with 15" duallies. The only production 15 inchers I know of in at least 30 years. An upgrade would only require 2 adapters instead of 4 custom wheels. Here are some on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/15-DODGE-SPRINTER-DUAL-STEEL-WHEEL-WHEELS-RIMS-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2eaec45223QQitemZ200500597283QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories I'm currently restoring a Nissan Sunrader and it sits so high on the chassis the 14 inch wheels look stupidly small. Deffinately going to keep this in mind for the future Linda Scott
  23. Due to the cost of 4 custom made 15 inch dually wheels many 4x4 owners have opted for wheel adapters and 16 inch single wheels with e load range tires. Custom and commercial makes adapters. http://www.customcommercialwheel.com/
  24. You left out some important things. It's the only king cab Sunrader ever built. The only 4x4 with custom made 15 inch wheels and has been featured on every 4x4 and expedition vehicle site online. It's worth what someone will pay and times are tough right now. I think you'd get the best price on ebay. Just set the reserve so you don't regret anything when it's done.
