  1. I do not know if they are to be used in pairs or not but Ace hardware has big packs of ring magnets that would serve the same purpose. Somethings are best shopped for in person Linda S
  2. In southern California a 91 Odyssey like this would normally sell for 8 grand. If it's still there in a couple of days I would be very surprised. I'm amazed it didn't sell at the first price she posted it for. Good luck Linda S
  3. It's a very good deal. Too good. I can't find any clear marks of a scam but if you pursue this please take every precaution. Meet face to face and ask to see title. Yes great buys do happen but being careful is always good business Linda S
  4. There is no such thing as buying a motorhome through eBay that wasn't on eBay. There are warnings about these scams on eBay quite often. It is a scam. The only safe way to purchase is face to face with an owner who has the title in hand. If your worried about the transaction you can always meet at a DMV or a bank, theirs or yours. Be realistic when looking too. No one is going to sell a mint condition RV for this price. Linda S Oh and if you had said yes you would have gotten an email from a fake eBay site that might have looked very realistic. These are not amateurs. They are professional scam companies with lots of employee's and they make tons of money from people who are less well informed as you.
  5. Very possible you could find a shop that makes boat windshields or custom plexiglass work to copy the windows for you. Make sure you glue them together enough so they stay in one piece pulling them out. Karen knows a lot about plexiglass and I think she recommended Weld-on glue. Linda S Place like this could do it. Just depends on how much they would charge http://www.walsh-plastics.com/plastic-windshields.html
  6. Sounds like a good plan. Please start your own thread to discuss repairs and ask questions . I don't care if it's not a Toyota. Linda S
  7. You have the straight 6 engine? I already know what yours looks like I think. Very small, cute. Linda S
  8. Says in the retro fit description it's for people who want to use their original door. It is the same company just many years apart and new name. I had to buy a new door at one point and the Suburban door fit with some minor adjustments. Lots of big RV places in southern Cal. Maybe you should go look at some parts and get an idea of how they go together first. Linda S
  9. No, they still make pilot light models and they do cost less. Linda S
  10. Here's the installation file http://www.dyersonline.com/downloadfile/download/aitfile/aitfile_id/1979/ If you want to retro fit it so the installation looks the same you need one of these http://www.dyersonline.com/suburban-radius-corner-door-install-kit-for-v-model-to-sw6-water-heater.html?utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=googlebase&gclid=CICA67aTqMsCFYZefgodpf0PBg or you can buy a flush mount door kit http://www.dyersonline.com/suburban-polar-white-sw-series-flush-mount-4-6-gallon-door.html Things change. You just need to adjust for it but it will work. I would retrofit. Might find the parts cheaper on ebay too Linda S
  11. Have you tried this place. 71 miles but they say it's a grade A which should mean no rust and it's only 50 bucks. oops farther than 71 but not 300 W and W Auto Parts, Inc. USA-MI(Roscommon) E-mail 1-989-275-5650 Linda S
  12. Looks more Texan to me. Gettin ready to feed a whole passel of cowboys. Linda S
  13. Considering I paid something like $275 almost 12 years ago that's not a bad price. Linda S
  14. I like Andy's foam panel closures but it's good to get some light in the daytime. Why don't you make the panels exactly the same size as the window frame and attach some magnets around the edge like these. Easy sew on http://www.walmart.com/ip/21989713?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227016077974&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=40942509512&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=78880507472&veh=sem Then at night just pop them in place and they will stick to the metal window frame. Much easier than screwing curtain rods into the walls. Linda S
  15. I had no luck. 2 of them were definitely the wrong one and the last one which was hell to get to had the label peeled half off. Couldn't be sure so I passed. Last truck doors didn't open and I had to crawl through the back camper. I should have brought an environmental suit with me. Yuck. Linda S
  16. 3 trucks at my local pick and pull that might have one. I'll check tomorrow. If you want PM me with your phone number or I'll just post here later in the day. Haven't gotten my pick and pull fix lately anyway. Linda S
  17. Well he did quote me 5 grand and I know I can get the parts for way less. That's his way of discouraging me. Yes he does like me. He is completely remodeling a house I bought in a foreclosure auction that needs mucho work. I will pay him but he will fight me about it before he gives in. He had very bad parents and considers me his real Mom Linda S
  18. On the other hand I have a friend who actually calls himself Baja Wally who goes to Baja every year in a 2wd 79 Bandit and has never had any problems. I guess it's all about choosing how aggressively off road you want to be. He's sent me tons of pics of him parked in remote locations and on beautiful beaches. I have done a fair amount of traveling 4x4 only roads in the Sierra's myself. Off road enough to get kicked out by the forest service 3 times cause I didn't actually have a 4x4. Never got stuck once. The rear duallies give quite a bit of traction. The big drawback with a Sunrader is the lack of power and the height. Trees, roads that are seriously slanted, and very steep hills will be a problem. No trees in Baja so that's off the table. Those big rocks look formidable but I just wouldn't go there. I have pulled big rocks out of my way though and stopped and filled in deep ruts. I asked my mechanic son-in-law how much to convert my Sunrader to 4x4. He said at least 5 grand and that's with him doing the work for pretty much nothing. If you want to have someone you have to pay do it, I think you would find buying a 4x4 truck and a slide in camper would be cheaper Linda S
  19. Isn't your Sunrader a rear dinette. The guys that did mine never pulled it out. They put it face down on the dinette bed on a tarp and installed it in place. My son-in-law replaced the cooling unit on my Tiger Provan in about an hour. Not all that complicated and those cooling units come with complete instructions. They last a very long time too. My Sunrader fridge didn't work when I got it and I had the cooling unit replaced right away. Must have been 12 years ago. No problems since so it is really worth the money Linda S
  20. Yes and Sunrader floors had some flex when new. Kept things from being jarring when driven down the road and flexed with the fiberglass shell. I was told this by a gentleman who owned 5 Sunraders over the years all purchased new from the factory in Vallejo. He was good friends' with Dean and Antonio factory manager and foreman. Linda S
  21. Well as long as I've belonged to these groups that's what everyone has called them so I do too. It's east of Vallejo so there you go Linda S
  22. well I've never tried the flip thing with a fridge but it's crystals in there that supposedly block it. I'm thinking heat gun to expand the metal tubes and shaking? There is another possibility though. Any chance it all leaked out. Is there any ammonia smell. Does it gurgle when it's turned on? That usually means some of the chemicals have leaked out and there is air in the system. Linda S
  23. Yes we met at your house next to Pinto Lake. Again like all the others said just put your hand on the cooling tubes. if they are hot and the fridge isn't cold you need a new one. Crap The one I posted is a little taller and a touch wider than you old one. Specs here https://www.americanrvcompany.com/assets/images/RefrigeratorsReplacementChart.pdf and the one in Gold country is a 2453 and yours is a 2410. So close but so far Linda S
  24. Yup east coast and west coast. All west coast Sunraders have the wrap around windows. Your 79 has the larger windows and no clearance lights above it. Advantage RV in Napa still makes the windows but your large ones are very expensive so take good care of them. Linda S
  25. Laying down plywood on the top and screwing it down is what most of us do. I think 3/4 inch is overkill and adds more weight than needed. 1/2 inch seems to be enough. Karen also mentioned that predrilling a slightly larger hole than the shaft of your screw brings the floor up tighter than not doing it. I know I didn't do that and I did have some problems making a tight fit. I think using construction glue is a good idea too but of course I didn't do that either. The bottom of the floor there is nothing to grab. Thin metal sheet, very thin plywood and a thick layer of foam. All you end up doing is compressing the foam. Yeah I made that mistake too. Linda S
