  1. Newer and faster. Never imported to the US but available as half cuts or if you know where to look. I don't know if his is a KZ-TE or the earlier KZ-T which slightly less power https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_KZ_engine Linda
  2. Go to the search function on his site and search "Sunrader black tank". Lots of stuff comes up, some useful, some not. Read them all. You need to remove your toilet and shower drain and then you need to cut the plumbing vent in the closet down as low as you can but still leaving room for a connecter to re-glue when you put the tank back in. Buy a new shower drain and toilet seal and flange to have on hand. There is one post where a member said he was able to reach the spring bolts by pushing his black tank up somehow. Sounds dicey to me. If you just crack it a little it can be fixed. If you smash the hell out of it they still make that exact tank for $250 bucks. I did see where Turtle the owner of the Yahoo Toyota group removed his for spring work in 2008. I know you've asked on that group and he has never answered you. Maybe he forgot what he did. Seems weird to me he's always so helpful. Just do it. Linda S One other thing. I think it's possible that if the toilet and shower drain are removed you might be able to rotate the tank away from the springs and not have to cut the vent pipe. Worth a try.
  3. I did mean wouldn't worry. Sunrader are always in demand because they generally present less problems maintenance wise for the coach. Since your a former owner you already know some about RVing you will be fine. I think all of us here are cost conscious. Otherwise we would be driving $100,000 Sprinter rigs Linda
  4. One of our members here "85diesel" is building a Sunrader 4x4 with a KZ diesel. Haven't heard from him lately but it's not the first time he has done this with a Toyota, hence the name. Linda S
  5. I will be in Seattle sometime this summer but probably won't have time to drive up so will fly in. Girlfriend just bought a house in Sultan. If you would be willing to make the drive I'm sure she would welcome you. Let you know when I make my plans Linda S
  6. It's 30 years old and it only has 100,000 miles on it. Sounds like the previous owner cared for it so I would worry too much. Any vehicle can develop problems but the 22re is about as dependable as you can get. 6 grand is a fair price for it if it looks super clean. Check for soft floor. Leaks around front windows or anywhere else. You would see water stains. Not a deal breaker but a bargaining card for sure. Ask more questions if you need any specifics. Post from your cell phone when your there and you might get an immediate answer. So many guys online here all the time. I own 2 Sunraders and love them both Linda S
  7. Wow that is great. Wally is such a cool guy. Glad both the Bandit and the Adventure went to him cause he knows how to care for them and actually uses his RV's. Your Adventure will love Baja. Linda S
  8. Have your mechanic get the part number for you. If you can find one he gets to make money installing it. I searched and I couldn't find anything that was just a cable. Is it part of the actuator assembly? Linda S
  9. No I don't have any pics. my last computer crashed with a bang and I couldn't get anything out of it. It gets better mileage than my Toyota at highway speeds. Goes 70 easily and still gets 15mpg. The best part is it's got a 21 gallon gas tank. On the bad side I don't use it. I never finished the redo. I'm semi retired now and as soon as I have a driveway instead of just gravel, I'll get back to work on it. Moved to small town in northern Cal and still doing moving stuff. Don't even know where most of my tools are. I don't think I could ever sell either Sunrader. Be like separating twins. Linda S
  10. Looks like lots of gas valves available. https://www.google.com/#q=atwood+mpd-91043+gas+valve Or you could upgrade to new. Just depends on how much money you want to spend http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=atwood+6+gallon+water+heater+direct+ignition&_osacat=50067&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC2.A0.H0.Xatwood+6+gallon+water+heater.TRS1&_nkw=atwood+6+gallon+water+heater&_sacat=50067 Linda S
  11. There are lots of RV's from the 60's with the original tank. As long as the valves open and close properly and the rust is just surface rust it's probably fine. Painting them from time to time protects from more rust issues and I know lots of people who do it. Linda S
  12. This is the right size but I have no way of knowing if your hinge is the same. Also if your lid has a metal bar in the middle save it. Sometimes new lids come with them and sometimes not. You might need to reuse it. Yes I know it says 15x22 but if you read the listing it say the lid size is 18x25 Linda S http://tweetys.com/roof-vent-lid-15-x-22-white.aspx?gclid=COfgrKve4c0CFQqsaQodAiQBNQ
  13. I think Odyssey's have a permanent ASME tank right? They are very expensive to replace. Lightly hand sand it and spray paint it and it will look like new. Then take it somewhere else to refill. If it's a DOT tank that you remove to have filled they are not that expensive. Lots online or Ebay. Linda S
  14. Wow I always look for Nissan motorhomes cause I have one but this is the first Mini Cruiser I've ever seen. Very cool. And Mr. 86rader I have that Sunrader your looking for. Not for sale but Sunrader made rigs with the V6 Nissan from 86 to 88, all of them the shorty 18ft model. There are about a dozen that I know of. Linda S
  15. So few though that I thought they might have been special order. Randy and one other person who I can't remember are the only ones I've ever heard of. I've looked at an awful lot of motorhomes for people and I've never found one in person that wasn't on a 5 speed. Odyssey's mostly. Linda
  16. There is no 1985 6 lug axle. Yours had to be upgraded at some time and they were all 4.10 except for some V6's with 5 speeds that came with a 4.30. At least as far as I've found. Might be some exceptions that were special ordered. Linda S
  17. Well glad it all worked out. At least you know that it's not necessary to use so much in the future. Linda S
  18. I put the numbers with your trannie into a gear calculator and that's what I came up with. I used the W46 trannie. Is that not what yours has? Either way your never getting it to 90. Linda S
  19. Yes I'm aware that most rubber products today are synthetic. Buna N also has no tolerance for household bleach. Linda S
  20. You probably haven't seen one in a very long time but they are stretchy because of the elastic made from rubber. I have a box of O rings in the garage and I'm pretty sure they are rubber too Linda S
  21. 90mph in 3rd would put your rpm's at over 6500. I think your engine would blow up before you get that speed. glad your camper is working out well for you though. Linda S
  22. very damaging to rubber. Ask your wife what it would do her bra. One wash and it would be garbage bound. In a water pump O rings will degrade Linda
  23. There's is only one. For a truck, a box truck, a flatbed or a 4runner. The auto trannies for an 86 4 banger is the A43D. Linda S
  24. Half a gallon of bleach is way too much. Way way too much. !/2 a cup is more like it. Kind of surprised your pump still works after that Linda S
  25. Pretty much the same. Of course it depends on how steep the hill is. I attempted one hill where my rig just stopped and mine is an 18 footer so it weighs less. Welcome to the world of Toyota motorhomes Linda S
