Well for one a much smoother ride. The V6 chassis handle and drive way better than the older ones. Yes it's still going to slow down on big hills. Hey my V6 Explorer does. I make it up the hill just fine and so will you. For anyone looking for a speed wagon you need to not buy a Toyota. Most V6 owners report about 15 MPG. Linda S

I don't think any were really lost. When Greg first started this site and owned a turbo 4x4 Sunrader he thought there were only 2. Over the years I have seen quite a few more than that and way more 4x4 Sunraders than the supposed 24 or 28. Yes they are rare but not as rare as we previously thought. In fact there are far fewer V6 shorty Sunraders than 4x4's. Possibly only 15 but they might come out of the woodwork at some time too. Great find though and enjoy it. Got pics? Linda S

None of this model Trimark lock on ebay and the retailer you show that has it, is the only one I could find. I'm thinking this lock might have been discontinued too. Another option does come up when you google Bargman L300 replacement though. Specifically says it replaces the Bargman. Available at lots of places too so again Ebay might be an option Linda S http://www.rvwholesalers.com/parts/products/lock-rv-motor-home-entrance-31-8078?gclid=CM6GnNvzic8CFRBrfgod0BwEAg

The deal with the locks is you have a hole in your door. You need to find a lock that will fill that hole or your going to have to add some kind of panel to fill in the gap. Looked at that lock and it does seem bigger than most but only careful measuring will tell Linda S

Well if it was me and I tried to drain the tank the plugs would be so rusted in that I would damage the tank trying to get them out and then I would really be in trouble. So I wouldn't do it. If you must tinker with it it's up to you. Linda S

1 ton. The bore size should be 15/16. All the other trucks have a bore size of 7/8. Toyota didn't really call it a 1 ton at this age. It was the heavy chassis but 1 ton will do. Great job. Man it can be frustrating tracking down stuff like that. I went through kind of the same thing with my 86 but it was passenger side only. resealed the windshield, cleaned out the cowl grill drain holes and it still leaked. Finally found all the water was coming in from the heater vent cable that comes through the side wall in front of the computer. Marine sealed around it and it's never leaked since. Soo much work to find that darn tiny leak and I don't mean darn Linda S

I wouldn't run it dry. You have an in tank pump and after all these years there a bunch of gunk down there you don't want drawn into your pump. Just live like you've got a 22 gallon tank. Get you worlds father than the rest of us and you'll never run out of gas. I know another person with a 26 gallon tank and he's run out twice. Must be like those Prius people. Goes so far they forget it still needs gas Linda S

Hasn't visited here since Feb, 2014. Funny though that so many people keep mentioning him though. Usually people who leave the group are quickly forgotten. He may not have been popular but he started one of the biggest threads ever on this site. The "What did you do to your Toyhome today" one. I hate that thread. So many great ideas lost in a thread thousands of posts long. Linda S

One of the members here just posted his trip and part of it was going up highway 14A in Wyoming. 10% and higher all the way for about ten miles. I went down that road once in a Dodge an and had to stop 4 times to let the brakes cool but he made it up just fine. Read second note here http://www.whp.dot.state.wy.us/home/ports/mountain_road_information.html Just checked the map too. It's more like 18 miles to the top Linda S
