  1. Wait...I'm lost...the reply says use Dexton 6....but then at the end it says "dexron six is great but its so thin and detergent it could free up too much junk all at once" That last part doesn't sound good!
  2. I'm helping a friend sell his '88 Winnebago 21' 4cyl. I know the interior lights work when the RV is hooked up using the power cord and adapter. I also know the upper roof AC unit works. I'd like some advise on the best way to test the follow: 1) heater 2) stove (4 grill stove top to the left of the sink...I'm thinking propane?) 3) Refridge (I'm thinking put the power on and see if I hear it working!?) 4) Kitchen sink and shower sink (looks like shower sink and shower head may be combined?) 5) toilet 6) generator...is there one? I presume this chargers the back up battery? Thanks...sorry...as you can tell I'm new to this and just trying to help a friend out!
  3. Thanks. I just hooked it up for about 5 mins to see how the systems were working. It won't be used or hooked up with the adapter much. Thanks for the heads up.
  4. Good news! Hooked the power cord up correctly today using an adapter type extension cord that was in the RV. A breaker in the power panel had blow so replaced that and now everything seems to be working just fine...AC is blowing nice and cold and all the lights work!! Thanks for all the help...I guess I got worked up for nothing!
  5. Thanks. I think I'll go with the regular Dextron and add the Lucas like Linda S suggested. My friend has it for sale so he's kinda calling the shots on what to spend etc!
  6. As you can tell I don't have much experience with these. I was out of the shop when I had someone else checking the system and they hooked the power cord up to 30amp 220V. Hopefully the convert has a fuse! Hopefully it is promising that the interior lights work powered off the battery. No wonder the AC isn't/wasn't working since it wasn't getting proper 110V!
  7. Thanks. The RV has not been used in a few years and driving it around a few miles it isn't shifting into 3rd gear and took some time to start shifting into 2nd...so I figured start with easy and change the fluid.
  8. Hmm...that may be the problem! I had a friend who claimed to know something about RVs and said since the plug was a big 3 prong it needed 220V. If the cord was indeed plugged into 220V.....what was probably blown?
  9. I'm going to do a transmission fluid flush on my friends '88 Toyota Winnebago. Is there a filter I should replace at the same time? What fluid and how much do I need? Thanks!
  10. Hi all, New here. I'm helping a friend do some TLC on his '88 Toyota Winnebago 21' RV. I really don't know much about these vehicles! The 220V power cord thatr pulls out of the side of the RV is getting power to the living area but nothing is working when the plug is plugged to 220V source. The interior lights work when the accessory battery is hooked up. The roof AC doesn't doing anything when power the living area by the 220V cord or the accessory battery. Any tips or troubleshooting ideas would be great. Thanks!
