  1. Crap, now that I talked the price up I want it and it's too expensive. Linda S
  2. That's a stupid ridiculous price for an 86 Conquest. Keep looking. For that price you can easily find a Sunrader. Linda S
  3. The dually rear axle is certainly solid but they can be put on a 4x4 truck too. A full float axle single wheel axle from a 90's Land Cruiser is also an option. Dually axle on a 4x4 would require custom wheels so they match the front in diameter Linda S
  4. The 2wd Odyssey's had dual wheels in the back but because there was never an upgrade available for the 4x4, Odyssey just made them with singles. Single wheel axles were never the problem. I don't know where you got your only 10 made figure but it's just a guess. No one knows exactly how many were made. I'm guessing from the ones I've seen quite a few more than 10 but less than 20 Linda S
  5. Curious. Your right about the Tacoma 4x4 payload being almost the same as the 90's trucks. The big drop was in the 2wd trucks. From over 2600lbs for the single wheel 1 ton to 1300 for a Tacoma. The Hilux available in other countries is another breed of truck. Payload is up to 2800lbs and that's for the 4x4. Wouldn't it be nice. Linda S
  6. I don't have the rear box but I've always heard it would carry 35 lbs. Linda S
  7. Yup a Tacoma is too new. He needs to stay with a regular Toyota 4x4 truck, long bed. They have exactly the same wheelbase as the truck his Mirage is already on. The Mirage has no bathroom so no black tank and toilet. It also has integral fiberglass cabinets. The solid fiberglass would make it an excellent choice for a truck switch. I'm betting the whole shell weighs hundreds less than a Sunrader. I'm also sure that it would not put a regular truck with single wheels over the weight limit. With the Tacoma Toyota drastically lowered the GVWR. All over the world the Hilux is still available and used for motorhomes. It's a real truck not arm candy like a Tacoma. Toyota has increased the GVWR of the Tacoma over the years but surprise. Load capacity remains low because the truck itself has increased in weight. Linda S
  8. Wow it's beautiful. So I originally said 25,000 but another member here had his 4x4 Sunrader on our for sale site for I think 35 grand. It sold. I don't know if he got full asking price but yours is a V6 so I would say more. 25,000 minimum up to 35,000. Pocket change compared to what people pay for an Earth Roamer or other newer model 4x4 motorhome. Even the Sportsmobile vans go for close to 100 grand. I would be comfortable with 35,000. Then see how it goes Linda S
  9. There is a Toyota Chinook group on Yahoo https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/toyotachinook/info Lots of the members there have replaced their seats. I see one mention of using seats from a 2014 Kia Rio 4 door Linda S
  10. I don't think I've ever seen a permanent mount ASME tank with no gauge. If you can't find one please take a pic and post it. Linda S
  11. You pull the little bugger out. This is not the same Cobra inverter but bet the alarm looks the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCHH_iBKu-U Linda S
  12. Well your camper is on a 112 inch wheelbase truck so standard cab long bed is a prefect fit. I would want to stay with the 22re and not upgrade to the V6. You don't really need 6 wheels in the back with the weight of a Mirage but if you want them they are right on your truck. It's already an axle upgrade, just upgrade the other truck. Linda S
  13. Tell him if he does make a tank for you, and that does sound reasonable, he had better be prepared to make a bunch more. Larger tank is probably one of the most requested parts people are looking for Linda S
  14. Your probably not going to like this but the easy way is to lift the camper off of your truck and mount it on a 4x4 truck. There are so many differences in the frame and suspension from 2wd to 4x4 it's a huge job to convert it. Linda S
  15. Not complete but a simple list of what's needed with a couple of links for more info. http://www.fallonz.com/archive/truck/20R.html Linda S
  16. Does your gauge show a full tank? Is the propane that does come out especially smelly? When you run down very close to empty the oil they use in propane as a leak warning becomes more concentrated and it can smell pretty strong. Yes there is a pressure release valve that should be open when filling. Look at this one close up. Small valve with red circle around it even has instructions above it to stop filling when liquid comes out. Got to be open for that https://www.amazon.com/Flame-King-YSN122-Horizontal-Propane/dp/B01M1BUQ3U If it does turn out to be properly filled I would change out the regulator. Not expensive and not too difficult a job except for the tiny door access on Sunraders Oh one more thing. Are you opening the propane valve all the way. They are made to be all the way open or all the way closed, no in between Linda S
  17. My holding tanks are ABS. Are you sure yours aren't. My fresh water tank is the only "plastic" one and yes they are harder to repair. If my black tank had been plastic fixing it wouldn't have been an option. With ABS the glue and slurry concoction is actually building new ABS that becomes part of the tank. My dump valves don't have supports but they are very close to the tank. In set up's where the black and grey come together for one exit and there's more pipe involved I do think I've seen some of them supported. Pipe hanger straps like you would use on a house will do nicely if you feel they are needed. Linda S
  18. I did a major fix on my black tank when it got hit by some wood in the road. Knocked the exit tube all the way off. Grind up some ABS with a rasp bit on your drill into a pan. Add ABS glue and mix it up so it's a thick slurry. Paint it on the crack and your done. It becomes an integral part of the ABS not just a top fix. Dollar store throw away pans and brushes. If it's close enough to the opening you can get some on the inside too. Mine was more complicated because it was so extensive but it never leaked even with putting the drain hose on and off hundreds of times Linda S
  19. In Toyota motorhome world you just won the Lotto. Lucky guy Linda S
  20. The last company I know of that made the 25 or 26 gallon tanks charged around 700 bucks for one and that was 10 years ago. You have the good fortune to know someone who makes tanks. Just ask him. I did find one other reference to someone still getting a tank from Aero tanks many years ago and they paid close to 1000. Ya gotta really love not stopping for gas. I thought a T100 tank might work but a member here told me the space on all the pickups for a fuel tank was the same and only the 37 inch long one would fit. That turned out not to be true. I carefully measured my 112 inch wheel base rig and I have room for a 42 inch long fuel tank. Unfortunately the T100 tank is 46.5 inches. Maybe the tank could be altered or maybe the 137 inch wheel base trucks have more room. I could never get anyone else to measure a long one. Linda S
  21. If you find something that fits please show me pics. I went nuts trying to make something work. Linda S
  22. I don't think the plexi would be a super big no, no if he used thick enough stuff but you can see that the wood stringers are already drooping. They would have to go and be replaced with stronger wood or metal . Maybe aluminum box tubing? Also a little more light than I would want. Wondering how he sealed the edges too. Making sure everything is sealed up tight is number one when redoing a motorhome Linda S
  23. Yeah don't think there would be flexible coupler from tank drain to waste hose hook up.
  24. Abs pipe can be had at your local hardware store. The special fittings you need for an RV can be found t most RV places and online on ebay and tons of other sites. Linda S
  25. Smart but you kind of look like your cleaning up a nuclear disaster. I wish I was smart when I use the stuff. I destroyed a pair of prescription glasses the first time. Glad it worked. Don't put the big fi off too long and in the mean time make sure everything is sealed up well Linda S
