    • That is awesome, congrats. Also, impressive job on the timing belt, I think I did mine in two days and took my time just to be safe. We of course did the water pump and everything else with it that the job allows. The valve adjustment on the other hand may have been 3 or 4 haha. My rig is also titled as a 90 but on the 89 chassis.

In what area will you be camp hosting? That has always looked like a decent gig. Also, sweet black toyota!

    • That’s an awesome rig! Nice job on the fit and finish, many thoughtful hours to complete I’m sure!

Ours was bought for $1500, not running and full of mice and all that comes with that. I had it towed home, and went to work. Nice had gotten in the timing belt and made nest and etc. so I took off work 1 day and started at 6am and by 4 pm was driving it around town! Had to go to the parts store a few times that day as a 92 has a mechanical tensioner and a 93 has a hydraulic tensioner, the title says 93 but the truck is a 92. Anyway 100 hours or so later then inside was ready to camp. Have taken it from Maine to Key West and the keys a few times, put 25k miles on it since we got it. Taking south for the winter in August and going to try our hands at camp hosting for a few cold months and hopefully the cat will be chill for that time!

    • I thought it could be neat to start a new thread of everyone's rigs with some pics? If that has already been done or if this is in the wrong spot, feel free to let me know, anyways...

What a journey this build was, I can't even guess the thousands of hours of work put into it by my dad and I. It often felt like it would never be done, like the idea of camping in it one day would was just a fantasy.

I am happy to say we have been using it for 3-4 years now and thousands of miles of travel. It was well worth all of the work, although there will always be work to be done on rigs like these. The rig has performed fantastically as has all of the components of the build.

And finally, here is a sneak preview of my dad's fully custom build he is just about finished with. It's such a neat unique build and rig, I cannot wait to share it!
