any of you Toyota experts have any idea what other models and years of Toyota use the same steering shaft diameter and # of splines? I HATE the refugee-from-a-1970-Maverick item that my '85-chassis toyhome came with.

I'm mostly just worried about shaft compatibility....I can engineer the horn actuation setup since i'd be getting it from a donor vehicle and can get the steering-column end of the horn ring as well.

thanks!

At the least - 1979 to 1988 Toyota pickups, and 1976 to 1988 Land Cruisers use the same shaft diameter and spline count for the steering wheels. So do many of these non-Toyotas.

  • 1974-88 American motor (expect Alliance)
  • Buick 1969-93 (except telescoping steering column)
  • Cadillac 1969-89 All Models (except telescoping steering column)
  • Chevrolet 1969-94 all model (except Corvette, Sprint, Spectrum “86-88 nova)
  • Camaro 1969-94 (except telescoping steering column or airbag steering wheel)
  • Nova 1969-94 (except 86-88 Nova)
  • Chevrolet/GMC Truck pick-ups 1974-94
  • Chevy GMC Vans 1982-94
  • 1978-81 Dodge/Chrysler plymouth, Tilt col All models
  • 1979-81 Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth Tilt col, 2WD & 4 WD pick-up, van
  • 1976-1995 CJ5,CJ6,CJ7,Wrangler, Cherokee, Wagoneer, Pick-up, Scrambler, Comanche
  • 1974-1975 Wagoneer, Comanche, Pick-Up
