notsobigkahuna
Is there an aftermarket cruise control that works well on a 22RE?
Derek up North
This is one make and model I've heard of often. Can't say it's better or worse than others though. http://www.amazon.com/Audiovox-CCS100-Universal-Vacuum-Control/dp/B00029WQTW
waiter
I believe you'll want to look for an electric servo, The one Derek linked to has a vacuum servo, the part that moves the gas pedal. John Mc
darrel
I installed an electric servo cruise on my 84 Dolphin. Did not like it. When you are going down a hill it backs off the throttle too much and does not regain speed quick enough. You end up going under your set speed and wait for the servo to catch up. waiter
Darrel, Check to see if your unit has a "Gain" adjustment.. Not enough "gain" will cause the experience you're seeing (slow response). Having too much "gain" can cause the servo to "pump" the gas pedal, i.e respond too fast. As for vacuum servo, when the gas pedal is on the floor, there is no vacuum, so therefore, no cruise control.
