KevF
Does anyone know about the 1985 Toyota Hilo 22' motorhomes? I cannot find any info on them and am looking at purchasing one. Do they have any known problems? what would be a fair price for one in good condition? Are they known for axle problems/being to heavy? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. MontanaChinook
Hilo? That's the motorhome manufacturer name?
KevF
I'm sorry. I was given the wrong info. I guess it is a 1985 New Horizon. Any info??
MontanaChinook
Sounds like you'd need to be checking the rear axle to see if its been upgraded to a full floating, one ton axle. http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6 Otherwise...same things to look out for as any other 80s RV. linda s
New Horizons are very well built motorhomes but many did not get the axle upgrade. That is the first thing to look at. Then you have to check for water damage. Water stains anywhere. Soft paneling. Look under overhead bed mattress. Check all appliances and make sure they work. Always have to remember this is almost 30 years old. Lots of stuff wears out in that time if it hasn't been upgraded or carefully maintained Linda S
