Bob C
My MH does not have any insulation on the underside of the hood and it has a plastic floor liner instead of carpet. I had a Toyota SR-5 truck about 20 years ago and it had both. I know that the carpet is nice for comfort but will it help cut down on engine noise? I am also wondering is anyone added hood insulation for the same purpose.
wistoy
Carpet would help, but I would think insulating the engine hood might build up engine heat. But maybe the fire wall?
WME
Yes both help noise, there is enough air moving under the hooh to prevent heat problems. Also add Refletix under to carpet to reduce heat into the cab.
Bob C
I forgot about using Reflectix. Very good idea. The floor does get rather warm.
Derek up North
Double thickness on the transmission tunnel and over where the exhaust runs. Also check that grommets in the firewall are all still in place.
