i have a 79 toyota dolphin with two fuel tanks connected by a coupler with out a toggle switch. when i get on the freeway the pressure builds up until the gas spews forth from the gas cap. we have checked the return line and the charcoal container both are clear. please any ideas?

Both tanks have vent lines? Does it force fuel out of the tank line to the charcoal canister or flood the canister? As you most likely know there is more plumbing then a water works including a few check and vacuum valves. The canister traps any liquid fuel and stores it then it's burned off by the engine as a vapor via the vacuum lines so it should be a mostly sealed system and will have some pressure but not enough to force fuel out maybe 1 psi or so.
