thepilot
The rear tail light and blinker sockets on my mototrhome are mounted on the side of fixtures. Do I need to find a 90 degree angled led replacement bulb or will a regular led provide enough light? I have read conflicting information about the color of the bulbs...do they need to be the same as the lens color? I will be using 1156 and 1157 replacements. Thanks Barbara Edited August 18, 2011 by thepilot
waiter
If you have red lenses (taillight should be red) then use red LEDs, If your turn signale lenses are amber, then use the amber LEDs. The most common problem with those light fixtures is the socket itself. they loose their springiness and the contacts get dirty. ALSO - if your replacing the turn signals with LEDs, you'll need to modify (or buy) a blinker that will work with the LEDs, (The existing blinker thinks the light is burnt out so it blinks fast) Here are a couple links that you might be interested in : Running Light LED Replacement Tail light LED Replacement John Mc 88 Dolphin 4 Auto

Gulfstream Greg
Do a search here for LED as there have been many threads on the subject for tail lights, running lights and interior lighting.
