shower control valve

Recommended Posts

A lot of the shower heads had a vacuum breaker or anti siphon valve it screws into the shower fixture and then into the pipe for the shower head. It is a one way valve and it should close with the fixture turned on and drain back when it's off if the valve leaks it looks like the fitting is leaking.

As Maineah has said, there is a vacuum breaker. It looks like an adapter that screws into the facet then the hose screws into the adapter.

They get a little piece of dirt, or the spring rusts out, then the valve leaks and dumps water.

You can get these for about $5 at any RV place.

Don't over tighten when you screw it into the facet or you could break the plastic facet. If that happens, then you'll need to replace the facet ($35)

Take a look at this link, It doesn't show the vacuum breaker, but shows what I had to do to replace the facet.

fixed the leak, dismantled the shower head hose and used teflon tape on the fittings...voila no more leaks.
