Is this s good deal for $58.99 each for the galvanized metal and will they fit ok? http://rvadenver.com/camco_roof_vents,_fans,_fantastic_fans_for_rv,.htm Elixir Universal-Style Vent #71111-1G1, #7311-1G1, #74111-1G1, #75111-1G1
waiter
Google RV Vents - They are all pretty much standard 14inch. Look around, I seem to recall I paid about $30-$35 for mine. I replaced three of them. I also added one of those Max Air things that allows you to leave the vent open even in rain. bufbooth
Hello, If the reason you are replacing the vent is due to a cracked cover, you do have the option to just replaced the cover, they cost about $15. Or another option is to leave your vent alone and cover it with a Maxx Air vent cover. These are the single best improvement that I have made to my Toyota, it allows one to cruise at highway speeds with the vents fully open, allows the vents to be open during rain storms, and over the winter it allows moisture to vent out of the RV. You should be able to find Maxx Air vent covers for about $25 on eBay and they only take about 10 minutes to install, they screw in sideways into the existing vent frame, so no holes in your roof. Pluvrr
ok thanks waiter, taking a look at your write-up. buf, I seem to have the problem waiter had in that the plastic flanges are cracked and I think that's where the leaks are coming in. So I do need all the equipment, not just the top covers. thanks for the input guys! -edit- waiter, nice write up, thanks! I didn't see where you got your vents though, do you remember where you bought them? Edited May 8, 2011 by Pluvrr
waiter
No, I don't remember. Google RV Vents and there are 1/2 dozen suppliers on line who have them. I think these are the ones I got http://tweetys.com/ventline-non-powered-plastic-vents.aspx I have a powered vent that was in good shape, so I did not replace it (Its where the Air Conditioner would be) Definitely want the MaxxAir things, these allow you to leave vents open. ILIA
For 30 bucks total I had one shipped to my door thanks to ebay. The same one you posted a pic of I used to fill in the whole from the AC. Works great, great quality, and now there's more sunlight coming into the coach when the curtains are pulled shut. One of the best things I've added hands down.
