states02
Help, we're leaving tomorrow on a two week trip and all of a sudden the dash lights don't work. I tried brightening and dimming and nothing. Is there a fuse?
states02
Well I figured out the taillight fuse is the same as the instrument lights. (handy so one will know their tails are blown) Anyway, now I have to trace the short, put a new fuse in and it blew. Recently had a radio installed in dash and had wheels aligned and new tires on front. they had to get the spare from under the rig in the back to do the switcheroo, so maybe they shorted somewhere there. Any suggestions for tracking shorts?
states02
Well, never mind I guess. It's fixed. When the radio guy installed the radio, he hooked the ground from the radio straight to the wire that comes from the instrument light dimmer. So it was a direct short. Worked great when the radio wasn't touching ground but when I went to install it, it would short out with the lights on.
