  1. I'd love to see the mounting you used. I"m getting ready to put a HF 45 w solar on my Dolphin. Was thinking about setting up a charge trailer to tow behind the rig and then I could put the trailer in the sun and the Dolph in the shade. email me if you have some pics learn7peace@yahoo.com
  2. Well, never mind I guess. It's fixed. When the radio guy installed the radio, he hooked the ground from the radio straight to the wire that comes from the instrument light dimmer. So it was a direct short. Worked great when the radio wasn't touching ground but when I went to install it, it would short out with the lights on.
  3. Well I figured out the taillight fuse is the same as the instrument lights. (handy so one will know their tails are blown) Anyway, now I have to trace the short, put a new fuse in and it blew. Recently had a radio installed in dash and had wheels aligned and new tires on front. they had to get the spare from under the rig in the back to do the switcheroo, so maybe they shorted somewhere there. Any suggestions for tracking shorts?
  4. Help, we're leaving tomorrow on a two week trip and all of a sudden the dash lights don't work. I tried brightening and dimming and nothing. Is there a fuse?
  5. Thanks, yes it's air conditioned but no compressor, etc. I was thinking eventually I'd have to get into that area under the wipers. I just wanted a little confidence before tackling it. Thanks again. we love our little toy dolphin.
  6. Not too rusty around the windshield. I think it's wherever the heating system collects the fresh air. I suspect there's a drain hole that let's water out and that's clogged. That way it allowed the water to collect around the fresh air inlet and with the fresh air deal open on the heater, let the water in. that's my guess anyway. I drove in rain before and no problem. I was hoping that someone might know where that drain hole is so I can see about cleaning it out. Thanks for the replies. I'll keep looking. One day it will just glare at me. Martin
  7. Did you figure out the water heater yet. My 84 dolphin is a little hard to light. It takes moving the fire around a little to just catch the pilot just right. Then it lights, I hold the button in for a count of 60 release, turn to on and whooooooosh it's cooking. Good luck. We're in Kansas and just drove ours near Grants NM and back in about a three day turn around. It was great I love the smaller size and some of the great looks we get whenever we stop. They're definitely a cute and practical camper.
  8. Hi all, I have a 1984 dolphin w/22r engine and four speed manual. Last week we took a trip in a driving rain and I noticed that water was leaking from the ducting under the dash. I began the trip with the heater control turned to fresh rather than recirc. I wonder if there are some vents out front that were letting pooled water get in. Are there some cleanout drains to keep the rain from pooling? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
