scott
I have a 1993 Sea Breeze with what I believe is an aluminum roof. Would it be a good idea to put something like Kool Seal White Elastometric Roof Coating on it? Thanks much for any advice.
ILIA
I'll check the brand and type when I get home and update. Don't see how it could hurt so I went ahead and did it three weeks ago. Keeps my camper several degrees cooler during the hot Florida days (we just got a cold front finally). Only suggestion would be to make sure whatever you use is designed for a flat roof and can handle pooling water. Remove all dirt and mold and you should be good to go. I personally spent the extra cash on non-toxic environmentally friendly paint to avoid off-gasing which can last for months when using cheap stuff. Great product, great warranty, and they'll ship anywhere. 1 gallon covered my entire roof three times. Cost per gallon was only 45 bucks. Expensive, but how much do you value your health? I use my camper weekly. Permacoat Plus is what I think it's called. Reflects better than Kool Seal regarding both heat and rays. Again I'll check the label tomorrow and post some more spec/ratings regarding the paint. Can even sell you the second gallon that I never had to use for much cheaper. sharon333
I would do it as more of a proactive step.

I used elastomeric paint and Eternabond brand tape on the major seams on the roof. Otherwise I just cleanes it good, pulled up some of the old peeling paint and layed three coats down. We had a huge rain storm here 3 days later, not a drop entered the unit.
