Tony D.
About every 800 miles I blow a fuse on the EFI circuit on my 85 Escaper. When fuse blows the truck continues to run but fuse must be replaced if I turn it off or it will not start again. We isolated the fuel pump and it does not seem to be a problem. When the fuse blows the Alternator flickers off and on. Has anyone had a similar problem
Gulfstream Greg
Wow that's a weird one, make sure you have not lost your engine to chassis ground. The other possibility is the computer is failing or part of it has failed and is blowing the fuse. I am stumped!
Bodybagger
This would be virtually impossible to figure out without test equipment not available to the average handyman. You could get the 50 dollar DC clamp on ammeter from sears and find actual current going through each device on this circuit. if it is well within the fuse rating, assume an intermittent short (ie triggered by the right bump), Otherwise, see whats hogging the current.
