Just got back from towing a small 3 seat boat, alumacraft to the Ohio Walleye run.  Yep i know what everyone will say and yep we loaded the boat with our gear and yep it has a 15 hp evinrude brp ho etech on it plus 3 grown fisherman in the rv. 
I have the 22re performance motor from CA and it ran great crusing 65 mph.  MPG was 11.4 so fillups were frequent on the stock 14 gallon tank. I usually get near 16 without towing. I think she did well for a 3 hour trip each way but im not sure i would tow it farther.
