LeeBarry Posted January 13, 2009 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Does anybody with experience know about swapping out the auto tranny in the motorhome for a manual? I Know most of what parts I need, but does anybody know if I can use the same driveshaft? or is it a different length for manual than the auto? also, do I need to swap out the computer?, that's the big question I guess. Maineah Posted January 14, 2009 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Been pondering the swap my self I am going to say some drive shaft work is in order as far as the computer if it is not ETC there should be no difference (there are probably subtle software differences but you would never notice it) . I am looking for a rusted out 2wd pickup (in Maine they are not too hard to find) maybe even an SR5 so I can even use the dash that way I'll have every part I will need. That is probably the cheapest route instead of buying all the parts from a junk yard lots of things to change not an afternoon project.
