95k miles... and after starting it today to check .. we noticed that there was no prominent sound ... the motor sounded good and still had full power. then after driving it for about 15 miles the engine was heated up(not overheating) and started (clacking) not so much a knocking sound... The truck has new water pump, new radiator.... any ideas?

I swapped my auto tranny to a 4 speed out of an 87' yota p'up..the manual tranny was about two inches shorter than auto, i reused the longer primary driveshaft and short secondary which was already on my belair but still came up too short.. I used some afro engineering to get it too work but I'm scurred.. which driveshaft can i use to fill the gap ? or do i need to have one made?

I have an 86' belair.. and after plugging it into 110, I noticed that a fan keeps cycling on and off in the compartment under the fuse compartment. it seems to be doing it between longer intervals of time.. I cant seem to find a switch to turn it off,, what is this fan for ? and is there a way to disable it ? I dont wanna run up my electricity bill because I am plugged into my house electric... I thought it was the furnace but it never gets cold here so i made sure the furnace controls werent on ... any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Glen in sunny Key Largo

I replaced my junk auto transmission with a 4-speed that I had to pull out of my running 1987 toyota pickup and put it in my 86 belair mh .After two day of bust asz work we drove it home almost 200 mile later and knocking started rod .man o man .I don`t know what to do ? killing me ~~~ FYI drive shaft needed to be 2 inches longer & carrier bearing to short don`t ask me how I fixxed that on the side of the road lol and the clutch master had no hole on the fire wall so a hammer and a screw driver there did the trick, oo ya and as far as the stick shift had to cut a bigger hole for that to chisel and a punch . I like it much better as a stick but now the problem with the rod .Anyone looking for a 1986 toyota moter home with a a brand new clutch and a knocking 22re ? lol Glen Florida Keys

Heres the deal I get pickup a 1985 19 foot bella with 97k on it the engine seems to be in great shape looks like it may have been rebuilt as well as the auto transmission to the tune of $ 5000 the first time back in the late 80`s and then again in 2007 for $3300 .So I thought that it was in good shape so I drove it home from key west over 100 miles with no problems then I started a trip from key largo to ocala and It was running great to I got to moore Haven a round 200+ miles and then It happened it just started to slip so I pulled over a did a road side service replaced the trans filter and atf fluid seemed to work but not long maybe 30 miles .end of story now I need your help should flat tow it back home and junk it of swap the tranny for a 4 or 5 speed or buy a used auto trans .sell trade burn fix . P.S Thank you for your time... Glen
