because of lack of power in the colorado mt's. i'm thinking of separating my 1985 toyota 4 cylander from the still in good shape dolphin rv. i really like my dolphin and i'm thinking of mounting it on to a flatbed trailer. my quandry

is how much of the chassie is worth keeping together or to use some of it as my frame work under the camper.

i'm looking for thoughts, ideas, or suggestions. got any? :help:

How about just replacing the engine with the 4.3 liter V6 from the Chevy Astro. It is a serious truck engine and not too heavy. The later models have 190 hp and 250 ft lb of torque and multi port injection. It's been done before and the installers say it's relatively easy. You would have almost double the torque.

Hello Rum

Let me applaud your creative imagination....that said I would have to agree with futar: Repowering is probably the most realistic option: Look at it this way...if you do what you propose you will have a trailer with zero resale value; add to that the cost of the conversion and your trailer/toy will have negative value: Best to sell your Toy and move on to a trailer : Some dreams are better left as day dreams then the nightmares that they usually become!!!
