bufbooth
Hello All, My water pump always runs (or 2 or 3 second delay) whenever I turn the water on, is this normal? Should there be any kind of pressure tank, or enough pressure in the lines to allow me to run the water for 10+ seconds or so before the water pump has to kick in? I do not appear to have any water leaks. Currently, it makes for a very noisely shower, the water pump is pretty much running non-stop. Thanks, Dennis... turtle
nope, that's normal. You can put on a pressure tank if you have the room but I don't think I would want to have the pipes under pressure for fear of leaks somewhere. http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/in...nk/skunum=14747 http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/in...ank/skunum=2290 You are still going to have the pump turn on but the water will flow for a second or two before it does Something like this "might" quite it down a bit http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/in...ol/skunum=32735
bufbooth
I like the FLOJET.... Also, after looking at my water pump, I have about 10 inches of room all around it, I may try putting a wood box over it to see if it can help reduce the amout of noise it makes. Thanks, Dennis... DanAatTheCape
that is how mine works - there is no presure tank so when a faucett is opened, the pump must run (unless hooked up tp city water). My pump is also a bit nosiy - I checked the mounts & they seem fine.
nibs
A small accumulator tank will quiet the pump quite a bit, also if you mount the pump on rubber feet in addition to the rubber feet it already has, another thing that will help is to replace both the in and out hoses with short lengths of clear braided flexible hoses, it will reduce noise transmission along the pipes. I wouldn't enclose the pump because the motor needs air flow. We never use the city water connection, cause were fussy about what goes into our tanks, and hearing the pump makes us aware of our water consumption. Full timers for 10 years and 8 years in a sailboat before that have taught us quite a bit about RV ing.
