85mirage Posted May 12, 2020 Share Posted May 12, 2020 I am trying to reinstall light switch that when i originally installed it worked fine. the electrical connections fell off switch and just now getting around to reinstalling.Its been years since i rewired yoda. Now circuit reads 8 volts at wire. I tried to isolate which fuse goes to that circuit on converter to trouble shoot with no luck. I've pulled every fuse and there's still 8 volts showing. I've hotwired light with no switch and still nothing. What am i missing? Other lights and usb plugs showing 12.8 volts. Maineah Posted May 12, 2020 Share Posted May 12, 2020 Ok here's the deal a DVM meter has pretty much zero resistance so the voltage you are seeing is probably a phantom voltage. A USB outlet output should be around 5 not 12 volts, incoming to the device yes 12 volts.Your best bet to test vehicle circuits is a test light because it actually loads the circuit.
