steensraven
67,000 miles. NOT a rear bath, maybe lighter on the axle? Looking for my third Toyota chassis motorhome and thought they ALWAYS have to have the 6 lug/duallys?
AtlantaCamper
I believe the consensus around here would be that it's not wise to stay on the 5 lug. It's still going to be dangerous. Here is a FAQ that might be worth reading/reviewing: http://classifieds.toyotamotorhome.org/images/Axle_FAQ.pdf
steensraven
Thank you. Excellent article. I have requested photos of the rear tire hubs in case it was one of the (few) 1985-1986 models that had the free-floating *5* lug axle. Derek up North
There is no such thing as the 'improved' axle. Couldn't find a photo over a decade ago and nobody has seen one since. it's a Unicorn. There is no mention in any of the Recall documentation making any mention of such an axle.
