  1. maybe the pick up by itself will get 19 mpg, but I had a 87 p-up with the 22R 5 speed and the best I got was 17mpg
  2. Bicycle tires go no lower than the caster bar, so the pick up will bottom out first. Driving is no problem, The thing that actually is kinda a draw back is when you turn on headlights, it bounces off the bike wheel , but i usually try not to drive at night
  3. Hi All, Spent the weekend finalizing the receiver hitches . Had to change the bumper to be beefier and still accept the drain hose. Works pretty good.....
  4. Can you put the stripping tape on top of the old faded ones???I'm thinking that the old ones are to infused into the fiberglass and I will make a mess trying to get them off. All suggestions appreciated. Best
  5. I tried it (not hard wired - just plugged the whole RV into the inverter and turned the micro on and "IT WORKED". Now to figure out where to put it....I think best under the dinning table seat
  6. I tried to save weight by making my original bumper the hitch and it ripped too. Too thin , like everyone said. I was toying about buying a 1/4" bumper and then welding the hitch and foldable basket onto the bumper, but the guy at the ramp said to stop trying to reinvent the wheel...
  7. looks pretty cool .. ask away. Everybody here got good ideas . I was trying to check your axle , but cant be sure. Does it have single tires in the rear?
  8. I am planning on buying a dirt bike rack too and hooking it up via a double 2" hitch . I will do it this weekend. This is the rack. http://www.discountramps.com/motorcycle-carrier/p/AMC-400/?CID=PSC-PLA-Google-AMC-400-motorcycle-carriers&st-t=google-motorcycle-carriers&vt-pti=69196011022&vt-k=&vt-m=&CAWELAID=820562990000010230&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=23055661582&CATCI=pla-69196011022&gclid=CjwKEAjw1Iq6BRDY_tK-9OjdmBESJABlzoY7fpvJ9c7YJt5xhJL_2A6t9CMflimAUjgjHBNypaZopxoCHXHw_wcB
  9. Hi Guys, I picked up a 1000 watt inverter and plan to hard wire a micro wave ( I am planning on buying the smallest one - maybe 600 watt) to it. Does anybody know if that will work?
  10. Hi, Super awesome job. I have a Honda 2000 and am thinking i will copy your system instead of pulling it out every time i use it. quick question. Do you run it with the cover down or do you have to pull it out. Did you buy that slide out bracket? Also, let me know what you design for the tank. I am planning a second tank too right behind the storage box , but have not figured out how the fuel would move between the tanks...
  11. Ive got 62K..Engine seems in good shape and not noticed any oil burning. I will probably switch over to full synthetic Mobil 1 soon. Is there nobody out there with over 200k on their toyohome?
  12. Anybody knows what this thing is for? it looks like there was something attached but then it was removed are either broke off.
  13. Hi Guys, I'm Planning my first long trip to Oregon from Sacramento next month and prepping the Toyohome, I have 62 k right now on the engine and was wondering when the timing belt needs to be changed. I was not sure if it was 60K or 90K. I dont want to start taking to many things apart before getting ready for a long trip. I still need to balance the front tires, check the alignment, and figure out why my park lights wont go off (my suspicion is the alarm on this one). Your 2c's appreciated. Best
  14. Hi Guys, With all the topics on rot & repairs . Is there a way to check for rot without having to tear apart the RV. Why I ask is because mine seem's water tight and I see no signs of rot , but with all the postings I see on rot, I would like to do a good check.
  15. Man, You got guts. I would be terrified to drive that thing in that much snow. I tried just playing with my 4wd truck in 2 inches of snow the other day and I tried seeing how long it would take to brake. I gave my self maybe 100' of cushion to play with and I shot past the stop sign by maybe 50' and ended up in a spin out. You Denver guys must be snow driving experts. We suck out here in CA .. LOL looks awesome though ..
  16. I sometimes run into people asking if the ToyoHome is for sale. Usually not a problem and I just politely say no. Sometimes there are notes on the windshield asking to call them and that's OK. This morning a guy got into my property and was banging on my door like a nut. Then when i confronted him, he was asking if the RV was for sale and i told him that he cant be walking around my property and he got upset and I had to literally almost throw him out. What a way to start the New Year. Happy New year All. Happy RV'ing
  17. Hi All, Does anybody have an idea on how to pry the speaker covers off? The ones that are in the coach. It seems like they are glued on real tight. Also, my furnace noise is getting really loud. Its starts screeching and whining. If i bang the cabinet, it goes off for a while. Is this an easy pull out. (I am thinking no because the gas line seems to be hard piped)
  18. I use mine at least once a week to go to the office. It's just 5 miles away and the parking is great. I love driving it around but I do have another car.
  19. its a 91 and I have 6 lugs on both front and back. Is the only place to get a rim on ebay or CL ?
  20. Hi Guys, Anybody know if the rims on the Toyo Home are the same as a Toyota Pick up? I wanted to get an extra spare tire and was not sure. Any help appreciated. Best
  21. I tried this one , but the wires got really hot.
  22. Hi Guys, My coach battery went out and i found the relay that I changed when I first got the RV did not work ( actually, i think it still works , but the rivet that grounds it is loose). But now that I think about it, Is this the correct way that the battery isolator is installed? I called the RV shops and it seems that they actually sell an actual isolator (not sure what the difference is). I know that the one I replaced is more of a starter relay and maybe shouldn't stay on the entire ride time. Any ideas?
  23. Hi Guys, My heater sometimes makes a squeaky sound. Sounds like a loose fan belt . Sometimes its there and sometimes not. I took off the cover but could not find anything that was acting up ( matter of fact, i cant find anything that moves). Is the heater easy to pull out or should i just live with it??
  24. Congrats dude...looks pretty awesome.Your only problem will be trying to wipe the smile off your face as you drive down the freeway...enjoy
  25. Hi Guys, I was trying to get the MH real close to the gate to load some water when i snagged the bottom of the rear and bent the metal channel that holds the side & back panel together maybe 6 to 8 inches. It did not bend much but it no longer sits flush and i can't push it back. When i first got the MH, i though that that thing was made of plastic and now I see its made of metal. Any ideas on how to straighten this. I was thinking of cutting it at the bend and then reinstalling a straight piece and maybe no one will notice the seam...Anyway your 2 'cs appreciated..
