  1. shut off propane .and use a butan touch and heat fitting a little. someone probly used pipe sealant on the fitting threads.
  2. put new lp tank in, sealed new rubber roof. put new fold out entrance step on. new straps for waste tanks and fuel fill neck. tomorrow cutting off old rear bumper and welding new one on. maybe seal the rest of mini. then start building storage shed for I can work on interior in the winter. then camp in the spring
  3. Michigan park pass is a joke . all u have to do is say I have a pass .they don,t even enforce it. haven,t had one person look and see if I even have it on my plate. they just let me go by
  4. have to say Nissan are made well never understood the six spark plugs in a 4 cyl burns fuel better I guess . I just wouldn't own one for the reason I always owned Toyotas. there trucks just don't look very good to me. don't realy see that many here in Michigan. most trucks here are toyotas
  5. . guess the Nissan factory figured it out faster than Toyota .but anyway rather own a Toyota over a Nissan anyday
  6. I,v tore down ALOT of 22re engines that wasn,t a theory .I've owned a enough of them. it's hard to kill Toyota engines not being rude .about the theory thing. these motors were built to be in a light weight truck .not a 2 ton motorhome. as soon as you start rolling a mini home you are putting twice if not more stress on a engine that is made for a little truck. that 54k miles in a mini home is probly like 108 in the truck the engine was built for. Toyota was just in a hurry and didn,t do there research enough to sell there trucks to be built into mini homes look at the problems with there rear ends. that's the main reason they stopped selling trucks for motorhome.as for me I will only buy Toyotas
  7. 22 re motors don,t chew up the top half like other 4 bangers. I,ve broke many 22 re timing chains. the water pump is not connected to the timing chain it runs freely by the belt. . what happens is when the plastic quides wear. the chain starts slapping the timing chain against the timing chain cover sides . witch eats a hole in the side of the timing chain cover. and the water jackets for the engine block is were the chain eats the hole. more than likely that's were the water is coming from. a factory chaining cover is salty around $200 . you can get cheap ones but they are junk probly from china. because timing chain cover is also part of the oil pump get a good one. but if it over heated realy bad head may have warped . Toyota motor can stand a lot of heat . I have motor checked by a trusted mech. and not a Toyota mech the ones I,ve ran across couldn,t even change spark plugs
  8. it,s all depends on how far u want to go with reskining mini. it,s not going to be cheap.i just restored the entire outer shell and roof of mine. if I didn,t work in a rv plant. the supplies would have cost close to 2 grand if not more. that's for roof rubber and wood, glue and chalk and staples. if you can get filon for your outer skin that would be better . go to the bone yard and find the longest class A there should be enough filon to reskin a toy home. just take a sharp putty knife and take your time peeling it off
  9. may sound stupid but check all the gaskets on intake. and vac hoses. spraying starting fluid around intake can usually find leaks if there are any. also check mass air sensor.
  10. thanks. hoping to have mini done by spring. I should have the outside all replaced by October. then over the winter I can replace the inside.then spring go traveling Michigan . but thanks to everyone here with there stories of there minis and traveling .helps keep me motivated. been 5 1/2 months of weekends and just about every day during the week rebuilding the mini from the ground up.
  11. installed new marker lights 3 new roof vents and new roof ac and new electric step
  12. finished laminating and installing front cab sheet metal and new marker lights and 3 front bunk windows
  13. needsunenergy. what you bought is a replacement light . not a complete light. u need the housing with the wires and screw holes in them. that's why the light you have has no wires or holes for screws it's made to go into a separate base
  14. ya i do get it free.u ever want to try it or need parts let me know. were abouts up north u live.?
  15. if thats the case why pay three times the price for 3m products when u can go and get the same glue twice as cheap. benders then is getting better glue from somwhere then .3m glues is worthless for what u pay for it. when i can go to the benders plant and get for about nothing
  16. the truth be known benders realy only has three types of glue non-flammable and flameable and white wood glue.the flammable glues are all the same just thinned down to put in a spry pot or left think to roll on. same as the non flammable glues. the numbers mean realy nothing more to get you to buy it. i was told that by a worker at the plant when i picked up the glue for my mini . it is good glue thou
  17. relaminated sidewalls back on mini today tomorrow put new rubber roof on. anyone needing to reglue sidwalls or fix delaminating walls best glue to use is benders #617 or #618 must be sprayed on .adheres on contact. did both complete sidewalls in about 1 1/2
  18. finished replacing all the wood framing and sidewall and roof skin from front to back. this weekend new rubber roof and reattach fiberglass on sidewalls
  19. it,s just isn,t a sunland that has this problem. all 4 cyl mini,s struggles . sunland are nice mini,s i like them better than most minis. plus the are aluminum framed.
  20. u don,t want to move to michigan. price u pay for car insurance will bankrup you
