  1. I have the factory rack and have two Yakima cross bars. It's well built I put kayaks on it. Mines solid, and well sealed. I removed my ladder that was leaking and bolted it back on with a metal backing diamond plate. Rivets were a poor design.
  2. It's 10 feet long Corbin. Let me know if your add a room will fit I might be interested.
  3. I'm a Kiwi and my favorite sport team is the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team! Black is our national color.
  4. You need 2 people and if you have a drip guard over your door you may have to remove it. I mashed mine down with a rubber malet. It has 3 brackets, two of them are hidden inside the cabinets. The front bracket I removed my interior panel in the cab over area and cut the bolts shorter so I don't see it, hidden behind panel. It's also pretty heavy around 45 pounds, but I reckon worth it. Took me a half day. They sell smaller awnings too.
  5. I saved my pennies and purchased a black fiamma awning that arrived today. 6 bolts and I have an awning! I had one of these on my Sportsmobile, they are the best, and with all the rain we get in the northwest it will come in handy. Also an awning that can roll into an inclosure will keep it mildew free. Save your pennies because they are not cheap, but a simple hand crank an it's open!
  6. I wanted to be able to grab a flashlight, axe and knife easily while camping so installed them on or right next to my camper door!
  7. I resealed my window with some good rubber stick on stuff. Also noticed one of my emergency exit handles was not holding the window tight. A quick bend of the latch with vice grips and the window is tight as a ducks......! Simple fix
  8. My current axle is stamped 3Y8 Still trying to work out what this means and can I swap it out with a 399 axle. Worried about getting the gearing the same
  9. Interesting. I may have to do some more research on this. Swapping in Locking diffs would make my rig unstoppable.
  10. Mine says G292R 151F Looks like mine is 4.10. BUT that website info states many 86-87 stock 22re turbos we're miss labeled! As 2 pin My last number 2 is probably wrong and I bet mine is a 4 pin. I'll have to count the number of fins on each side of my diff to be sure. I have 15" rims all around with 6 lug, but interestingly my lug diameter in front is not the same as the rear. Is there a stamp on the axle I want to buy (it's not in a vehicle)I should look for to give diff and gearing?
  11. I'm thinking of buying a brand new rear full floating rear axle, with brakes and cables, good price $500 bucks. Do I need to match gear ratio to front? being my rig is a 4x4 manual trans? I've never swapped an axle before, anything I need to be aware of before I buy it? I have 15" wheels but I'm guessing you could fit any size wheels as long as the bolt pattern fits, right? If I get it the plan would be to sell my existing one.
  12. This Texas 86 Sunrader has all the bells and whistles on it Current bid $9500 http://m.ebay.com/itm/221676546114?nav=SEARCH One day left
  13. Well it broke, so in returning with full refund. I found this folding hacksaw woodsaw combo http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CSWHJUW/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1423335821&sr=8-1&keywords=eka+viking+combi+saw&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=41xYpisEy6L&ref=plSrch Looks a lot more sturdy. I need it compact for my backcountry ski patrol work to fit in my backpack and also for the Sunrader. That machete looks great. I could really scare all the cross country skiers with it vanman. And it's only $14 bucks on amazon right now Gerber 31-000758 Gator Machete with Sheath https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004A1IXRC/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_kuM1ub1FR59XX
  14. I recently purchased a Coghlands folding bow saw! They are pretty cheap and I'm adding it to my camping/recovery equipment. It's very quick to setup, blade lives inside long stem, simply loosen a set screw unfold and place other end through handle and tension it. Very light weight, see pics and won't need a chainsaw when I'm up at remote forest roads.

  18. Diesel is now cleaner burning than petrol! In USA. I had a 2004 ford v8 diesel and yes you have to know how to care for a diesel motor, and find a good experienced mechanic or work on it yourself. Its a pain if your winters are cold, an engine block heater is a must. I had reliable good quality bio diesel in town and financially it cost more but that smell of French fries out the back was awesome! I had that engine with a turbo in a Toyota Hilux double cab 4x4 best vehicle I ever owned super reliable, great low torque. I bet it gets above 20 mpg?
  19. Not mine but if you ever wanted a Sunrader that could run on diesel, bio diesel or waste vege oil this beauty has just been professionally converted. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/rvs/4846749188.html
  20. Your leak might not be your lights. The Sunraders fibreglass were screwed together at the seam, they often used too long screws. If your outside trim piece is old id recommend replacing it. Pull it off - it will probably fall apart and under it you might even find drilled holes with no screws in them! I did and that was my problem solved. I'd hate for you to replace everything and still have that pesky leak.
  21. Correct, I was playing with them in the driveway, they are new.
