  1. Decided to put mine on other side after all. Behind closet drawers and just above the access to electrical hookup. Used 2 dremel tools to cut access hole and had to cut some of the drawer frame back a bit. It will be easy to t connect to my shower plumbing too.
  2. I mostly boondock camp so regs don't apply! If I'm at a state park I use their showers. Shower kit just arrived so I'm about to get stuck in. I'm hoping I can keep my oven in place and simply shorten my under oven draw and have shower access box right behind it. Hard part will be attaching plumbing with cabinet still in. Think it's possible though.
  3. Looks like the same setup I have. You wheel diameter are probably the same front and rear but your lugs don't line up like mine. Right now I carry a spare for the front and none for the rear, figured I'd limp into a town if I get a flat. Would like someday to buy matching rear rims for the front so one spare will do me for front and back. I'm running 15" front and back though.
  4. No rear sway bar on my mine. 22ret 4x4. I have 15" rims running LT21575R15 Maxxis M&S
  5. Very cool thanks toyoguy!! Going to steal your ideas. So your instal is reachable behind your kitchen cabinet below your oven? Or maybe you didn't put your oven back in. I see you T, off of your sink hot and cold, that's what I had in mind. How deep does it reach inside the rv? "
  6. I had that setup on my Sportsmobile but I found it was a pain to setup and stow, faucet leaked after awhile and you have to have the door or window open. I want to roll up to camper and open an access door and spray off. Think it will add value to my rig too.
  7. I try to keep my projects contained and during week nights so I can still enjoy weekend camping. Not going to rip all my plumbing out at once. Always puzzled me why we can't invent winter plumbing that will resist freezing temps but we can put a man on the moon!
  8. Thanks. Yes that's the big 2 questions: where 2 add it and winter camping. I don't think I'll do the add a room so I'm thinking of adding it on the awning side where all the plumbing and pump is. I also want to add a battery box on the drivers side. They have great plumbing quick connects now too so I might redo my existing plumbing while I'm at it.
  9. I'm thinking of installing an outside shower http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=301660868331&globalID=EBAY-US Anyone done this? I'd like to wash off sandy kayak gear, shoes and have an outdoor shower on hot days
  10. Thanks for the info I'll be prepping my fridge on the street from now on. Or might just throw in a dry bag full of ice before my journey!
  11. My driveway is on an angle, so I shouldn't even run my dometic 3 way fridge on 110v while it's not level? Or is that ok? Sometimes I hook up the night before and get the fridge cold before travel. Does it need to be level running on electricity too?
  12. Hit up those forest roads for sure. Dispersed camping for free can still be found but only if you go beyond asphalt. You'll get hooked and upgrade to a 4x4 Sunrader, with chains for winter exploring too! That's what I really like a nice dead end winter forest road with some good mountains to backcountry ski!
  13. I'm looking forward to when I can do this trip, dam job and college bound kids keep my exploring local for now. Enjoy and hopefully in ten years I'll be you!
  14. Get an 18 footer and search for a 4x4. With 4x4 in low range I climb and have descended some very steep forest service roads! And can access most places I used to in my old 4runner. The Sunrader is a lot taller though and that has stopped me (trees overhanging the road) before the road has.
  15. Both of my outlets are wired together. Don't think in my case it will make a difference if I have 1 device to each outlet? I'll test it as I have another USB insert. Thanks.
  16. All installed, iPad and iPhone charging away! And with my recent solar instal I'm using the sun to charge my devices.
  17. Your lucky. Mine came with 1 single plug, yup I'm making 2 plugs out of one.
  18. I decided to modify my single 12v cigarette lighter in my rear console above fridge to accept a dual USB outlet and also a standard cigarette lighter port. I used a dremel and bored out the plate to accept a marine grade double outlet I purchased on amazon for twenty bucks. It's a simple plug in play. The wiring cones with it both wired together. 2.1 amp USB and max 15v is the specs. I'll should be able to charge both phone and iPad now at same time. One more coat of black and I'll instal.
  19. Sorry for sideways pics, if I add from my iphone they always seem to be sideways
  20. I finished my solar instal! I returned my original charge controller and purchased a Morningstar sun saver duo dual battery charge controller with a remote wired meter. I wanted a more professional look. The duo will allow me to add a second battery bank in the future very easily. As soon as I hooked em up I was charging away a 7.4 ah! Not bad for 200 watts of panels. I used 8 gauge wire 16 feet to reach my batteries in the engine bay. Charge controller I mounted in the Sunrader closet, and remote meter on the wall of the cabinet. Hardest part was fishing my wires around behind shower/toilet (hint, remove your vanity and you have access back there). Now I'll just need to buy or make a front wind deflector for in front of my panels. Feels good using the suns energy. Is this economical? Not really cost me $450 bucks and I can run my Honda generator A LONG TIME on that! But now I can leave my generator behind in the summer, so it gives me options!
  21. This might be a good project for someone, Bend OR. http://bend.craigslist.org/rvs/4971773108.html
  22. Cheers, great info. Any issue running my roof solar cables down inside my toilet vent pipe? To get from roof to bottom of rig? Gases effect the electrical cabling?? One less hole to drill in my roof, only reason I'll use it and it's right near my panels
