  1. If you need to run the A/C figure 2800 watts to run every thing If you don't need the A/C you can get by with a lot less. Toaster oven maybe 1500 watts TV's,DVD' very little power. So just figure out what you absolute have to have and go from there. A good gadget to have is a Kill A Watt Meter they are pretty cheap ($15) you just plug in the meter and what you think you might want to take with you and add up the wattage. You can plug in your entire MH (with out the A/C running) and check it out that way too.
  2. I have a set of Hercules G4000LT's and I only payed about $65 each for them It was 2 years ago but I had no trouble finding them.
  3. No nothing your missing it really is not a pilot light that's it just a small flame figure on a good 8 hours for it to get cold.
  4. Well it seems you have figured the fridge out, most will run on gas, 12 volts, and shore power. Just remember to turn off all of your propane stuff first (water heater and fridge) when you stop to fill up your gas tank. The fridge is slow to cool that is normal usually I turn mine on a day before I leave.
  5. If you are talking about R12 be very careful with cheap R12, propane works quite well as a refrigerant and most of the cheap stuff out there is propane R12 was priced off the market years ago there is still some around but it's not cheap. The roof top is most likely is R22.
  6. Are you sure the tank drain valve is not open it drains to the outside underneath. The pump should run if you have just refilled it there is an internal switch that senses water pressure and shuts off when there is no water demand. There is not need to plug it in it runs off the coach battery. Very simple wiring a ground and a power feed from the switch to the pump and the pressure switch on the pump is right there, should have power both sides if there is no pressure.
  7. There is a cold start air bypass valve that should bring the idle up a bit when it is cold they do fail or get plugged up. The first thing I would do is remove the big hose that goes to the air intake and clean out the inside of the throttle body with a little carb cleaner and a clean rag. The air passages are inside that go to the cold idle valve so be sure they are clean. Once it is warm there is a large screw on the throttle body that is the warm idle adjustment it looks at you when you are standing in front of the engine, tightening is a slower warm idle. Have a good look around for leaking vacuum hoses that will make your idle screwy also. Try the idle adjust and hose check first before you condem the cold idle valve when you find out how much they cost you may want to just let it warm up!

    Weird

Wow some thing I can beat in a race with my Toyota!
  9. Would it be easier to replace them with right hand studs and nuts from a local parts store? Toyota dealer?
  10. There is not nearly as much energy in a gallon of alcohol as there is in gasoline so 10% will hurt your mileage no doubt about it. It annoys me to buy 10 gallons of gasoline and only get 9! And the worst part about it, it is more expensive to make alcohol then refine crude! Don't get me started...
  11. Ha I get 55 mpg with my Jetta diesel yeah you guys with your light little campers rub it in!
  12. Yes probably. If you bring the outer cable (the big one) closer to the linkage it will shift sooner if you back it away from the linkage it will shift latter. It is easier on the trans to shift a little latter then sooner. From your discription it sounds like it is doing what it should.
  13. Your roof A/C is 120 volts it will run off shore power when you plug in the MH or your generator if it has one. Once you figure every thing out you'll love your little MH they are a lot of fun enjoy the new toy! Part of the fun is the aha moment when you find a new little doodad in your toy.
  14. I would guess the out gassing of formaldehyde from the chip board would be a California issue FEMA kinda ran into trouble with their trailers they left closed up in the sun for months. So by now your MH should be squeaky clean I would not worry about it.
  15. It sounds like the engine is running a little too lean. If it was working ok some thing has changed. It could be as simple as adjusting the altitude compensator or more involved like a carb removal and cleaning. I think the first thing I would try is a fuel filter replacement probably never has been done. Beyond that under the carb is a adjuster for a change in altitude you may try turning it just a little to the left that will make it a bit richer.
  16. Be careful buying $40 R12 freon it may not be freon. The ideal years ago was to price R12 off the market just a different way of banning it. If you have A/C issues to deal with any way that would be the time to switch to R134.
  17. I think I would be careful with a wheel lift too there is a lot of over hang back there! I'm not too sure about the toe rings remember they were made for a pickup not a 6000# MH. Some thing else that could be an issue is the distance it is towed with the rear wheels on the ground the transmission will not lube the internal parts with out the engine running. If it has to be towed any real distance the drive shaft should be removed.
  18. I just put the bed down (the one that part of the table) so my dog can lay up on that and sleep that way if I have to stop fast the back rests will stop him from ending up in my lap.
  19. When you say it (the ETC) works ? You can notice a difference in the shifting? Or just the overdrive on and off. Still the first thing I would check is the cable it controls the shift points but usually it does not change either it works properly or it does not. If the pressure is low it will stay in a lower gear longer not shift early. They had problems with broken governor rings but again it would shift late or not at all and/or shift erratic. Once this thing starts to shift too soon does it continue to do so until the next trip? I know this may sound nuts but disconnect the battery ground cable and reconnect it I am not sure how advanced your ETC is it may have no effect or it might help.
  20. My dog is young but big (Great Dane) and it is all he can do with out getting on the bed to turn around they are pretty narrow you most likely will have to pick your dog up to turn him around. You had better figure nothing greater then 20" max and that only leaves about an inch each side the door alone is only a 22" opening.
  21. Same chain kit 85 to 94 be sure you get the kit with the rubber coated metal guides. Most of the better kits come with all the parts gaskets, seals, guides, chain and gears.
  22. Me too I would like to know how those that say they get 19 MPG figure their mileage. I had a Tacoma 22RE pickup the best I ever did with that was 23MPG empty. My MH on the highway will consistently get 15MPG and I drive it really easy never been over 65 even down hill!
  23. Does this thing have ECT (electronic transmission control)? A switch that allows you to change your shift for power or comfort? And does it shift correctly some times or only when it's cold? This is going to be hard with out driving it is there a good, honest transmission near by? A good shop can tell you what's wrong by just driving it they have been there many times before and all transmission work exactly the same way.
  24. If the governor is hung up it will not shift up and/or it will start in a higher gear then normal when you start off from a stop. If it is shifting early it is a cable issue.
