  1. Thanks for the replies. She came right out after 10 screws. I was dreading the 30 yr old glue but never encountered it. Huge New storage. Who needs hot water.its campin after all
  2. theres nuthin scarier than going up a steep rough road at night w a motorhome only to realize its gettin too steep for the rig and no turnaround. and you attempt reverse in pitch black with tires skidding and a drop off looming. never again now I scout on foot, every steep rough backroad first --- for a turnaround its a workout, but well worth it versus a destroyed rig
  3. 1982 Toyota Huntsman Wondering if the tank is bolted down or is it just held in place with the numerous propane lines and its weight. I gotta get her outta there. Any removal advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you !
  4. 1982 pickup odometer is trying (klik klik) but wont turn the final figure. Any ideas how to fix?
  5. i hear you about the handling. can't expect 30 year old rig to feel perfect. I've been adventuring all over the mountains/deserts for 13 yrs with my camper. been great. wandering steering is only sketchy when trying to correct after getting jerked around high wind gusts
  6. i replaced the wall mount thermostat $ 15 - 30. and this solved my problem of not igniting. I also find that if I dont have enough 12volt juice it dont want to ignite
  7. I thought it was front end but realize the knocking sound I am hearing is coming from deepunder just between the 2 front seats. Is the driveline joint the possible culprit? There is a connecting joint just where the 2 drive lines meet there. A deep knocking comes and goes but clearly in sync with wheel revolution. Not wheel bearings.tires good/balanced. ANy suggestions? Thanks
  8. confused as to how many upper control arm bushings there are in front end of pickup is it 1 per side = 2 or are there 2 per side = 4 ? (almost certain this is correct) --also, how many ball joints do these bad boys take thanks 22R--4cyl -RWD
  9. good call . i m starting to suspect that now. the front tie rods absorb a lot of weight, especially descending. i m always on rough forest roads, and stuff. thanks for everyone s suggestions.
  10. [ name=Derek up North' timestamp='1350243644' post='33030] Loose lug nuts? A bad bearing I'd describe more a 'grumble' or a 'growl', not a 'knock'. Does the noise change when going around a curve?quote No change in noise when turning, its only a high rpm event(the noise)> its a deep, yet faint knock. Nothing in tires or nothing stuck on belt or anything.
  11. got knocking (very slight) but gets louder at higher speeds yet is still faint appears ..to be coming from right front end i feel maybe swear wheel bearing sloowly goin but i m no expert handles real nice, no performance issues 82 huntsman 4 cyl 22r 2wd any ideas/ thanks
  12. today i added installed some new blinds and also some low voltage lighting>> had these ikea lamps sittin around .. got to lookin at them and realized they are 12 volt.. Hey ..they are goin in the camper! they give off a nice light and give my 30 year old Huntsman a nice upgrade
