  1. I once had a pressure plate simply break, and it would not release all the way. Not worn out, just broken and no warning, just like that one day needing replacement. Hope that's not your situation, but it happens
  2. I should have known better, when on the road it cooled fine on propane. Plugged it in when we got home and checked the heat "tower" later and it was warm to the touch so electric heating element is working. I recall that fridges do not work well when not level, and driveway has slant, it does NOT work on this much slant but when i jacked up the front to level it the electric worked well after all. DUH!
  3. My fridge was plugged in overnight to get cold prior to first use, and it did not cool. Put hings in, turned on gas, and it cooled fine. I checked the electrical outlet for 110 and it was good. i assume the next thing to do is take it apart outside to where the electric heating element is and see if its getting hot? By the way, the switch that rotates from gas to electric turns stiffly, but there is no click or anything besides the elec showing in the cut out to let me know its in the right position, is the switch ever the problem?
  4. Great, Now I know its a model 400 as your description is right on. I will check (when its not 12 degrees out) for power coming from a ceiling light, and can also run power from the dual batteries that are under that short j couch. I extended the battery box there to hold two 115 amp hour deep cycles and mounted a 2000 watt inverter on the outside of the couch, right behind my calves as sitting there. Nothing hooked to the inverter, will use an extension cord from it to the microwave when needed and to wife's hair dryer (the important stuff).
  5. I will have 6 Hankook Ra08's on order soon, found a deal on them at pep boys for $449 for 6 plus Illinois sales tax and i can pick them up when in northern IL on business. They have a free ship to store for special orders starting Feb 29th. I'll bring 'em home and have them mounted here in Green Bay
  6. Definitely not worth the work and expense, oh well, if you don't dream, you will never advance. Since we are talking drag (slightly off topic) I'm planning to add two 4 foot top loaded cb antennas to my mirror brackets. Problem is, they do not extend out past the body up top. I'm planning to add a steel bar to top mirror bracket to extend and wonder how far out from the body those antennas need to be? OTOH, will the decrease in MPG just piss me off more than the benefit of having that communication make me happy?
  7. So, if air pressure is building up out front, wouldn't a ram air tube from the frontal area to the air cleaner (kind of like what K&N sells for some vehicles) give us more intake air like very slight turbo charging and help mileage? When I pulled a tall flat fronted fifth wheel with a 1987 Ford F250 diesel, i bought a plastic duct that pulled air to the filter from the cowl vents in front of the windshield. It did give me a bit more power (thing was a sled) but I used every bit of it to hold 62 MPH. With the Toy, I might be able to ease back on the foot throttle a bit?
  8. I purchased a pre tuned dual mirror mount antenna for CB for my 91 Dolphin. The mirrors do not stick out any farther than the camper body itself. I'm considering bolting an extension out from the mirror bracket so I can mount them here, but how far must the antennas be from the body?
  9. I also have that horizontal tank, looks smaller than a 20 pound BBQ tank, probably 15 pounds. I wonder how difficult it would be to enlarge that compartment to hold two BBQ tanks upright and be able to switch between them. I worry about convincing the propane filler in some backwoods burb that this tank is exempt and yes it can be refilled, as well as worry over its small size. I see there is nothing under the toy where that compartment is, would hav to figure some way to put a new lower floor in and how to support it.
  10. No dinette on door side, its a j couch on that side across from a larger couch. I will try the lights up above by the queen bed to verify they work, but hate to rip walls apart.....
  11. So how do I know if I need shocks? Its a pretty heavy vehicle to do the bounce test meaningfully. I just got my 91 Dolphin, so have naught to compare with.
  12. Kumho 857 appears to be a trailer only tire - not intended for cars or light trucks!
  13. Its a 91 Dolphin, all other lights work and I tested for power before the switch, no power to the fixture. The wires run down behind the door frame, but then where to? Seems like I could have a major job ahead so am considering not worrying about that light.
  14. The light fixture with a handle to grab as you enter the side door does not light. Bulb is good and all fuses are good, no power in wire before the on/off switch. Obviously this indicates a break in the wire between power source and the fixture, but before i start disassembling the door frame, floor, etc. any hints on where to start?
  15. Nexen? Hankook? I'm searching tirerack.com and finding neither of these. The only thing I'm finding in 185R14 is Yokohama or Continental. Are you running car tires? Just purchased a 91 dolphin (had a 4 cyl 1978 years back) and am not finding many choices for tires. Mine appear to be quite aged although good tread and would like to start with a fresh set of 6. Please tell me wher to go look, thanks
