even brand new campers need work. What you have here is a drive train that is 30 year old and sometimes you need to plan ahead to replace parts. But an equally important part of owning an old drive train is to educate yourself and know where you can source your parts when in need. if you are serious of keeping the toyo then I would stock up on parts that is needed periodically,

600 w will be enough to heat the camper, I bought a $8 fan heater from walmart and it heats my 31ft holiday rambler with a slide fine when the outside temp was 36F, it did not cycle much after I reached temp.

x2, many years back I had a Honda accord, I picked some bosch 4 way plugs for it, it ran like crud. switched it to NGK as spec'd in the owners manual, bammm, ran much better. Yes, plugs are plugs, but as we found it is safer to stick to the oem spec'd one.

I belong to Costco and I buy in vehicle insurance through ameriprise, they are kinda snotty but I get FREE roadside. Only caveat is that the vehicle has to listed on the insurance. used it 2 times in 15 years.

Dolly, thanks for pics, I hear you going slow on the hwy. People here in MI rarely drive speed limit (70mph), I can take my sunrader up to 63 mph comfortable but people are still weaving in and out. What brand/model metal detectors are those pls? does it come with the hand wand detector?

Toyota K16R-U is a denso 3119 hmm, but amazon says that it does not even fit your model year, I went to napa and they did not have any denso. NGK, bosch....

good idea, I know a few people who do this. I am thinking of doing so in a few years. My work schedule does not let me take a lot of time at once off. so I rather drive the camper to x destination and then fly out with the girls and camp out. Florida, - some camp grounds will store for you. you can store in public storage. Just get an Uber ride or Super Shuttle to the airport. I have done so in Cali for work, I had a corolla, when I was gone for few weeks, I would park it at work parking lot and take supershuttle to Ontario airport. Find place where jet blue, or other cheaper airlines fly to. I have seen $29 fares on Allegiant airlines :-)

check the hose going to the tank from the fill spout. I had similar problem with a new Altima I rented many years back. not sure if there was a bend or a kink, but I was a bear to fill slowly. you could buy one of those usb cameras for $20 off amazon and scope it :-)

glycol is the base, if you look at the MSDS you will see that it does not match exactly, I think I saw a benzene ring in one. Anyway spent way too much time in Chem lab in college, could have declared major in it, gives me headache now. I look for 2eha free coolant for aluminum toyo/honda zerex Asian Peak global lifetime (my pick), you can get this at sams club, napa in concentrate.

Sherrie, I can't agree with the owner at Precision Perf, toyo red coolant does not get the blame here. mixing coolants is a no no as mentioned already. mixing coolant can produce a jello like consistency. I buy PEAK GLOBAL lifetime either full strength or already mixed (from NAPA or menards) for my Japanese vehicles, (toyo, Honda) the water pump is a weak pump, drain and fill with distilled a few times and then fill with peak global. Congrats!

I don't like to throw things at a problem without knowing the root cause. Sherrie, you have a tiny tranny cooler in front of the a/c condenser. Pls buy a laser temp thing and gun the atf cooler, radiator (from the engine side) and tell us what the temps are when the truck overheats. What gear are you climbing uphill? I do mine in d3, I have turned my OD off and it drives fine and I can up to 62 mph without the engine being too noisy on my 22re 4 cylinder.

I looked at it and then I stared at it for few minutes and it reminded me how a 10 min project turned out to be a 5 hour deal and mucho mulas few times before. So I decided that pulling out the bottom rad hose will be MUCH safer option, :-) I have the worst luck with these stuff.
