  1. You A/C is going to be non-op on batteries. Lighting will depend on how many you switch on. Converting the most often used ones to LED will greatly extend your battery life. You should have a 2nd 'deep cycle' coach battery, as well as the truck's 'starting battery'. Battery life will also depend on the age and condition of your batteries. Yes, starting and running the engine should (if everything's working properly) will recharge the coach battery..
  2. My first thought was to start with a 4Runner. Or a Landcruiser! Also, I don't think that 4 people going backpacking for a week carry along 84 gallons of water!
  3. Oh oh. A rare one. I've no idea of the construction. Would have to assume a conventional 'stick built', but even then there's lots of techniques used. I think you're the one who will be teach us!
  4. What year, make and model do you have? And where's the rot?
  5. Don't forget speaker wire!
  6. Measure what you've got (and any extra space that MIGHT be available) and try these places:- http://www.tank-depot.com/product.aspx?id=163 http://www.all-rite.com/
  7. Heat is often invaluable for undoing 'frozen' fasteners. The 'Blue Wrench'!
  8. Not sure exactly which 'replacement unit' you're referring to, but you can get replacement cooling units for about $350. But since your freezer is cooling I'd say you don't need one. What make and model fridge are you fighting with? Do you have the manual?
  9. Sway Bar, Gray Hammertone, Chromoly Steel, Rear, 3/4 in. Diameter, Toyota, Pickup, Kit
  10. A few specs for the A/C: 12"x18"x24 (HxWxD) 71lbs 8.9A Source: http://www.dometic.com/599d4c46-da43-43be-b964-98c07bbbc08b.fodoc
  11. If they are indeed Toyota rims, AFAIK they never sold 15" for the North American market. The only thing that comes to mind is that someone might have sourced a set of rims for a Toyota Dyna, which appear to have the same BCD and hub hole. But I haven't been able to confirm that. Or even if they're 15". http://www.cars-directory.net/pics/toyota/dyna/1989/toyota_dyna_2884598.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Toyota_Dyna_Route-van_001.JPG 5 & 6 lug versions.
  12. So those are custom made 15" rims on a 1-Ton Full Floating rear axle? Why do you consider them 'crappy'? Just the leaking? Who made them? What size A/C did you chose? Where did you mount it? Have you managed to squeeze in a generator too?
  13. I always get an email when someone sends me a PM. Good thing, too, because the little number that appears at the top RHS of the page is hardly eye-catching. Too bad they can't make it bigger and blinking!
  14. As far as I know, that'll handle up to a 13,500Btuh A/C.
  15. You don't have to have a Yahoo account to send an email to a Yahoo address. I'm not even sure if you have to have a Yahoo account to join a Yahoo Group.
  16. Given the (poor) quality of the frame extensions that manufacturers added to hold up the rear of the motorhomes, it's not too surprising that they recommend against adding any extra load. That said, there are many, many who have had the original extensions reinforced and used them to carry and tow motorcycles and even tow a trailer with a Smart Car. I've search the archives in both the Forum and the Yahoo Group and the only report of frame extension failures was for MH that weren't used for towing! The Toyota 1-Ton SRW Pickup was rated at 8500lb GCWR. I've never come across a figure for the 1-Ton DRW, but I can't imagine it's less.
  17. Would probably be even better if you can snag the matching factory speakers that match the radio. I had an Infiniti G20 that came with a Bose system with a separate amp in the trunk. Wish I'd kept it.
  18. A couple of pretty good discussions on the subject: http://www.sportbike...ing-cradle.html http://visforvoltage...g-towing-cradle But this statement worries me:- Class 3 or 4 - 500 lb tongue wt. rated hitch is recommended. Fits 2" receiver. Tongue weight must not exceed the rated capacity of the hitch. Tongue weight of motorcycle is typically 50% to 60% of the total motorcycle weight. To calculate approximate tongue weight take 60% of the motorcycle weight and add 65 lbs for the weight of the RHMC1-SV http://www.sportutil...gneta/RHMC1.htm I think I'd be looking at a small trailer.
  19. I'm not sure if these are the correct calipers. They fit a 1-Ton DRW V6 U-Haul truck. http://www.ebay.com/itm/89-95-TOYOTA-TRUCK-T100-4RUNNER-3-0V6-RH-CALIPER-/160646741550?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25674abe2e&vxp=mtr
  20. While looking for the 'R-Value' for NidaCore (R3.3/inch), I came across this interesting site:- http://www.hookedupfilms.com/huf-adventure-vehicle/ I think I like the XP-Camper. http://www.xpcamper.com/
  21. Thanks for posting the info. Good to know these thing. EBay ($45) Special! http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-07-Scion-XA-XB-TC-Am-Fm-Radio-Cd-MP3-WMA-T1807-/360427070809?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item53eb20a559&vxp=mtr
