  1. Ahh gotcha. Appreciate the info and links. Yeah no FB for me either. That's the one I ended up ordering. It's very similar to the first one you linked (both have virtually the same housing (32 inches) and cable (48 inches) length), but the ribbed housing is longer on the BC92972. I finally got around to pulling out mine this weekend and the housing is about 26 inches and the cable length is about 42 inches. The 6 inch difference is enough, and if it's too much I'll figure that problem next. One thing at a time...
  2. Thanks Linda. I'd looked there and on Rockauto but the connection "eye" on my parking brake doesn't match any of those. I'll have to order a couple and see if anything works. Do you know if Zero is on any other forums? I saw ages ago you mentioned him on a Yahoo Chinook forum but those are all long gone at this point.
  3. I posted this on the Toyotaminis forum and figured I'd post here too. I recently completed an L43 to W50 transmission swap on a 78 Galavan, and had to move the tranny crossmember 2-3 inches towards the rear of the vehicle in the process. Now, I'm not comfortable / it's unsafe with how tight the front parking brake cable is as it comes out of the firewall and wraps downward towards the crossmember. Has anybody dealt with a similar situation, and if so what was your solution? Is there another year's parking brake cable that's a bit longer that I can swap in?
  4. Looks great! Love the matching color scheme between the boat and camper.

  6. I had to get some separate keys made today at a locksmith and chatted with him about the Galavan's lock assembly. He said to bring it in and there's potentially a couple of options: Repair the pins so there are fewer keys that will be able to unlock it. Replace the tumbler with a newer one that fits and has a more robust locking mechanism. Maybe more options once he looks at it.
  7. It offers little to no security as basically any key can turn and unlock it. I was hoping to get a more modern and secure unit in its place.
  8. The lock on the camper door for my 78 Galavan needs to be replaced. I've read through a few threads here and there, and here's what I've found: The original is a Bargman L-300 There are some replacements out there, like the Tri Mark 33677-01-K and Bauer BP-12RV Measurements Current interior cutout: W 3 7/8 x H 4 3/8 Current exterior cutout: W 4 3/4 x H 4 3/4 Recessed area: W 5 3/4 x H 5 3/8 My entire lock unit is recessed a bit, which I didn't see in photos from other threads, so with the recess I don't think the replacement locks with a rounded shape, like the Bauer, will fit. Is this something The RV Doctor can help with? Thoughts?
