  1. Nidacore would probably work well for a roof lift.
  2. No mention of fuel filter in your post. Did you physically see the damage to injectors/fuel rail?
  3. Has anyone ever lost a cat (or had trouble finding them before pushing on) while on the road?
  4. MREs are for emergencies. When I camp, I eat good like Maineah said!!
  5. Vehicles like that often ended up in high school auto shops. I remember my school receiving a brand new 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix, while another school got a '78 Trans Am. Both were slightly damaged from a train (shipping) accident.
  6. http://nida-core.com/english/nidaprod_honeyinfo_working.htm Nidacore.....polypropylene honeycomb core covered on both sides with soft polyester non woven fabric. Great coring material and easy to fiberglas over..
  7. This is the website for the product I used. http://www.colorplus.com/ Product is called Surflex. Amazing stuff that is water based so you can imagine how easy it is to work with. Changed a white leather interior to black and years later you still couldn't tell.
  8. Count us in as soon as we find a unit. Are you still game....see I'm responding to a 3 year old post!
  9. Here is my idea for a Toyota motorhome. Take a 2002 or newer Tacoma Ext Cab (PreRunner or 4x4), remove box and rear axle, extend/strengthen rear frame, install Ford or GMC dually rear end (use 235/85-16 all around), install coach of choice on top.
  10. Looks good. Don't stop there. Use a product called Color-Plus to change the color of the dash and steering coloumn if you think the brown looks out of place. Water based dye that works better than you could imagine. Used it on high priced European sports cars years ago.
  11. What is a 14 bolt axle? What was it used on?
  12. Yes, UHaul had the Toyotas with the dually one ton axles but everything has a limit. I think there is a good reason why Toyota decided to to stop supplying chassis's to motorhome manufacturers. Even with their full floating axles these chassis's are inadequate, not to mention the frame and brakes as well. Look at Shoprats post above. His unit weighs in at around 5800 lbs. He also mentions, and rightly so, that many people are driving these things overloaded.
  13. Thanks Iowacamper.....exactly the answer I was looking for. Thanks for taking the time.
  14. The most amazing fuel tank repair I ever saw was with SealAll. Didn't matter that the affected area was wet with dripping fuel or the fact that it was unprepped and rusty. A friend just applied the SealAll and it sealed it up within 10 minutes. 2 years later it was still leak free.
  15. Anyone else? No need to crawl under. I just need the overall width from outside of outer left hand tire to outside of outer right hand tire i.e. tire track dimension of rear end. feeding a tape measure on the ground underneath the unit should suffice.
  16. Hi, new to the forum. Enjoying going through threads and learning from others. My question is this.....What is the overall width (from outer tire to outer tire) of a dually rear axle assy on a Toyota motorhome?
