  2. Heres some more picts.Replaced all skirts and floor starting framing windows & new compartment doors. I've got 6 compartment/access doors. It seems like alot
  3. All right, another renovator! Congrats. ive got picts a few posts down of my rotten camper...burnt shasta post before after and during picts for all us sick individuals
  4. the switch by the sink maybe its for the water pump ,faucet ,shower. do you here a slight hum sound?
  5. I just replaced plywood "skirts" Mine were rotted all around. Check my shasta demo post and on may12 i added new picts of just that
  6. Hey i just saw online you can get that bedliner stuff in a gallon container, although it wouldn't be as nice as sprayed on but cheaper.
  7. Nice job thank allah for aluminum framing!!
  8. Wanted to replace rotted skirts before i layed floor heres some picts. I used 3/4 pt ply.Old skirts were made of piece of 1x screwed to bottom floor joist. Then blue insulation then another piece of 1x which acted as nailer for exterior molding which sandwiched fiberglass siding to sheetmetal on other side. It was all rotted was able to salvage some sheetmetal. Glued ply to aluiminum joists before screwing.
  9. No not bad advice at all Chairman. I just realized it had to be removed from below which wasn't going to happen at that moment so break off i had to. I'll try looking for smaller pipe flange. thanks
  10. Well i ended up breaking flange off. So now i'll have to pull tank from below to try and remove broken flange from tank. Hey but at least i got floor down. Yippy!
  11. Anyone replaced/removed toilet flange from tank before? I'm replacing floor and would like the 3/4 ply to sit under flange to provide support. It was just screwed to rigid insulation. I cant get flange off. I dont want to remove tank. Need to find missing anchor nut and try putting toilet back on and try removing again with leverage. Thanks for any help!
  12. Plan on ripping roof off, well whats left. Then frame ceiling, lay sealed plywood, Lay fiberglass on ply and have it overlap existing wall panels , epoxy resin fiberglass. Where can i get some new molding to cover seam? Just grabbed some 3/4 a/c ply at lowes.only 2$ more than b/c Thanks
  13. Nice renovation i like the black carpet. Thanks for the photos its givin me hope and inspiration.hey sparky i was thinking of using that stuff from lowes about 32$ 4x8.I like that its fiberglass,NO ROT! I was thinking of using that paneling with a bead on it for the walls. It comes in two shades of white. Plan on backpriming as well. Go renovators!
  14. 3/4 ply will get screwed to the aluminum floor joists. I'm just going to leave the existing rigid floor insulation no need to waste. Many many wires I'm afraid to cut any as i'm no electrician. Hope to use same wires. There is a couple of extra feet of wires under the shower pan just curled up. The ceiling was 2 layers of luan same as walls and two layers of wallpaper then blue rigid insulation then another layer of luan touching the thin sheetmetal! Thanks for the encouragement! I'll try flipping fridge. Then heater is removed and the electronics i disconnected via easy plug unsure of how to hook up remote thermo?
  15. congrats. I have a mirage with 5 lug and have spent 3 months constanst touring US, 10k plus another 30k with no mproblems so might be fine. Have fun!
  16. Well i've removed over 30 contractor bags full of rotted rv. The walls and ceiling were two panels thick. The floor two layers of plywood thick and a base layer of luan, the same material as wall. That contact cement is something! Being that it was mostly rotted it made it easier. The bad. I've removed the fridge which after being plugged in for 3 days theres only a little condensation in freezer. I assume broke. Removed hot water heater which is split at the seam must have froze. Also broke. The little pieces of 1x that sit sunken on the perimeter wall are rotted. They sit below the aluminum joist. Not quite sure how I'll replace it without removing siding. Any ideas? Removed heater/furnace, I have no idea on how to attempt to see if it works. The good. Floor joists are aluminum, rot free! The rv Ac blows cold which was good for the 90 degree day on my knees. If the ac works while plugged in, does that mean my convertor works? I tried removing interior generator cover but must disconnect 120v connection as well as choke nob and battery connection... Hope to put some 3/4 plywood down soon. That will make me feel good Has anyone lowered their shower trap to give more headroom while showering?
  17. I can't figure out where the fire started? It looks like multiple fires different places. Probably on cushions as their missing. I would like to remove melted faucet and try hooking up hose to camper. I tried following water lines after hose hookup. Theres a line that goes to hot water tank then disappears under heater. Ive found two tanks near waste valve/cleanout so they must be black & grey tanks. To the right of sink there is something in cabinet which doesn't open. Maybe thats the fresh tank. Anyone one know where electrical breaker is? I would like to find out what works before i dismantle everything. Thanks for your help
  18. Plan on taking everything out install new framing ,siding, roof possibly higher, its not as high as Mirage. Mechanics seem to be fine, engine looks clean. Alot cleaner than Mirage. Tranny is good, stronger than Mirage's. Its also on the column which is nice for jumping in the back. Can't find fresh water tanks or main breaker. Any suggestions? I just found generator switches. It looks as if it has grey,& black water tanks. ALso hot water tank. Wow
  19. Hello have you had any success in finding front windows for your Mirage?
  20. Hello Garagetuner nice camper! I'm a fellow Mirage owner and I can relate to lack of power. I have just come to take it slow 55-60max... well i try to get it going faster if I see a hill coming. I have taken it on a 8000mile trip across the country. The tranny gave me problems outside Moab UT where I had it towed for a tranny flush. I then headed home adding fluid twice a tank. I was laughing at your post because I took her over I-70 going 20mph if that. I had lots of mad people behind me going up hills. I since got the tranny fixed. I will try to post picts if interested its an 85 small body without the back No side vent either. These are some of the repairs that I have had done. Replaced engine shortly after getting it. 22RE Gas Tank Leaf Springs Shocks propane tank brakes
