  1. No that was 1978. That sweet girl is 60 now Linda S
  2. That is a very tempting set up Karen. Looks pretty awesome too. Now you got me thinking about all the room I'd have with the furnace and heater gone. I do love my propane fridge but those super efficient ones can run off of solar and batteries for a long time. Definately got me thinking Linda S
  3. Wow Derek you do find some good stuff. Never seen or heard mention of such a thing ever. Man that would have been nice. Wonder if they ever actually built any of them. Was this on the toyota campers site? Linda S
  4. Unlikely. Almost all Dolphins were upgraded thanks to National Rv's very determined search to find them all. Only company that did that. Of course probably cause they were the only one still in business Linda S
  5. I actually have a factory brochure for my Nissan Sunrader. Truck brochure not the camper. Here's a simple reason the Nissan used the 5 speed much more than Toyota did. On the 5 speed tranny cab and chassis the rear axle ratio was 4.625. A much lower ratio than was available on the Toyota cab and chassis so you could actually use 5th gear. 5 speed was the standard package but the auto option was a 4 speed automatic with locking torque converter and a 4.375 rear axle ratio. Damn I didn't even know I had locking torque converter. Linda S
  6. No different front wheels and lug pattern. 6x 5.5 on the front and 6x 6.5 on the back Linda S
  7. If you could see the rear axle you would also notice that this cutie has a full floater. Nissan had them available in 1984 instead of 1986 like Toyota. Linda S
  8. Yes a very interesting rig. I have only seen one other one like it for sale in Portland last fall but that one didn't say it was a 4x4 like this. Interesting combination of maker and coach too. Amerigo was owned by the same company as Gardiner-Pacific which made the Sunraders. Amerigo was located in Indiana. This coach section is exactly the same as a Nova Star which was made by New Horizon in southern California. Boggles the mind to figure out how these 2 came together Linda S
  9. I too have been down 14A in an old Dodge camper van. I had to stop a couple of times and let the brakes cool. Certainly creates some memories you don't forget though Linda S
  10. I use my oven a lot and it worked great when I got it but it too looked like it had never been used. I guess if you don't bake at home, your not going to bake on the road but I meet a lot of new friends cause of the smells wafting out of my motorhome. California just passed a law that allows me to sell home baked goods if I get a permit. Might be able to pay for my trips by baking on site. I've been giving it away Linda S
  11. So Sunrader and Winnebao ignored the generator manufacturer and installed them the way they wanted instead. They would void the warranty for that generator and be responsible for repairs. I don't think so Linda S.
  12. I believe it is all wood. Brochure on the toyota-campers site says all construction glued and screwed and you can't glue aluminum that I know of. The laters years had a steel reinforced roof but I think that started with the v6 models. There are some pics on that site too of Odyssey's being repaired and I don't remember seeing any aluminum framing Linda S
  13. I don't think it's very common. I think she posted it cause she needed that washer fluid bottle in there and couldn't find anything that thin. Don't know what she ended up with. Linda S
  14. I have a factory installed generator and I will comfirm tomorrow that it starts from the truck battery. Easy enough to do. Just going to remove the cable from my coach battery. Of course zulujim could do the same so he would know Linda S
  15. OK I found it.This is the picture I remember seeing on the toyota-campers site but it wasn't Mike's it was Norma's. 1988 Sunrader with a big box under the hood with 2 batterys. One is her truck and the other is the coach http://groups.yahoo.com/group/toyota-campers/photos/album/1432968488/pic/1117508465/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=21&count=20&dir=asc Linda S
  16. No I don't use dicor type sealants. it did rain on my head one night and I had to get on the roof in the pouring rain but I had put all new vents in and mistakenly used putty tape to seal them. Only a couple of years later it had dried out enough to leak. When I got home I removed every vent and resealed with butyl tape. 5 years later no leaks anywhere even when there is a puddle up there. Ya gotta get all that old crap off and seal it right Linda S
  17. My Sunrader has a slight dip but it's sealed and I don't have a problem with it. Park on a slight slope and the water doesn't accumilate. I have considered making a roof beamlike the newer sunraders had but I don't want to remove the cabinets so it would have to be installed in 2 pieces and connected in the middle. Cedar so it looked nice or metal that I would cover with foam and headliner. Linda S
  18. Yes Stamar.Watch your commments about ethnic groups. It's not welcome here. Linda S
  19. I don't remember auto or manual. I have auto and second is good almost up to 50mph. At 15 to 20 mph you should have been in first. They don't like to kick down to first though so I down shift manually. Nothing you mentioned would send off red flags to me. Thats how they run Linda S
  20. According to my Kohler manual the gen set starts from the engine battery not the coach battery. Makes sense that if your house batteries were low you could still start your gen set to recharge them. My Tiger coach battery was completely dead but the Onan generator still started. Get your coach battery tested. That is your problem Linda S I have seen toyota motorhomes where the generator wasn't even connected to the coach unless you plugged the power cord into it. Generator started up just fine though
  21. I wonder if advancing your timing slightly might give you a little more power. Easy and quick to do. What say the mechs Linda S
  22. This might be close depending on what they call their proprietary road data is. Apps are usually pretty cheap too. http://www.rvbusiness.com/tag/rand-mcnally/ Linda S I do not even own a gps system. I use maps and I never get lost. I am aiming for those nasty roads cause they are always the most fun.
  23. Email them. if anyone can brow-beat them into creating a GPS app it's you. Linda S I mean that in a nice way
  24. Didn't you try the lights before you bought it? I really don't think there is anything wrong except for your coach battery. Your gen set is just running power through your converter to your battery and making it work even though it's shot. Do all the lights work when you plug into shore power? bet they do. Linda S
  25. Not a GPS app but you can download it to your smart phone or notepad and use it to help plan trips. http://www.mountaindirectory.com/ Linda S
