  1. Don't know exactly how this off set is measured but my duallies are 7 1/2 inches from mounting surface to outside of the rim. maybe you can figure it out from that. Tell me if there's something else I should measure. My rig is right outside Linda S
  2. We have seen these 5 lug duallies several times over the years. Most of the time on rigs in southern Cal. Don't know why or how they got these unusual wheels but I've thought possibly someone was making real 5 lug duallies as a kind of fix for the bad axle. This one doesn't have them in the back though so that is very strange, unless I just can't see them well enough. A real dually set up would have centered the weight on the bearing and maybe not caused the stress of the fake duallies. Don't really know Linda S
  3. When you respond to people like that and tell them they are asking too much they just think you are trying to rip them off. He'll figure it out eventually Linda s
  4. Those new gas tanks are even worse on a boat. Impossible for me to fill my little tank without spilling some of it in the water. So much for our lakes. I know truck bed tanks are allowed so storage tanks would be OK I think. Linda S
  5. Yes 10 grand is way too much for an 84. I don't see a 1 ton axle either. No hand holes in the wheels. The 1 ton has either 6 or 3 hand holes. I wonder hwhat he's thinking asking that kind of price even with those low miles Linda S
  6. Both of my 18ft Sunraders do have a spare underneath. I don't think extra tanks will pass the smog inspections in California though and that is where Stevo is. Pretty strict out here. Linda S
  7. Well not exactly a perfect fit. They had to extend the frame and drive train over 20 inches to match the 145 inch wheelbase of the Lesharo. Also ended up putting a heavy motorhome on a truck not designed for more that 5100lbs GVWR. The GVWR on the Lesharo chassis was 6677lbs, more than any of our Toyota's http://lesharorv.com/viewtopic.php?t=1569 Looks fun though Linda S
  8. Where on earth would you put it. Only place it could possibly fit is if you remove the grey holding tank in the back and mount it sideways. That 83 still has value. why make it worthless with no fuel tank and the 82 has less value without a working water system. . Linda S
  9. Well I was just wondering if any Winnebago owners could check and see if they have the 3.9 axle. Would be interesting to find some out there. Winnebago's were only made from 86 and up so they would not have needed an axle upgrade. Tag should tell the real ratio unless they switched out the gearing. Linda S
  10. Bargman still has that lighted door handle on their site but they have dissappeared from the web. Bargman does not sell direct. If anyone has one on their rig and can find any lenses near them I recommend you stock up. I waited too late and have never gotten a newer model one for my Nissan. I did find one place that still had them on their site but when I went to order it email came back that they could not fill my order, item no longer available. Crap Linda S
  11. Yes I found the brochure with the 3.9 ratio listed too. Funny but no one I have ever heard of actually claimed to have one including Winnebago owners. Went back quite a few years on the toyota-campers site and the only one mentioning it was me cause thats what car-parts says they were. I've said before a friend of mine bought one of those supposedly 3.9 axles for his 4x4 Sunrader after going to the wrecking yard and confirming it was actually the 4.1 that he needed. Would be nice if any Winnebago owners could check their tag under the hoods and see what they have. Looking for G542 axle code of the 3.9 instead of G292 of the 4.1 Linda S
  12. Shows it where. We did a casual survey on the toyota-campers site and no one had a 3.9 ratio. Most had 4.1 and a few like Derek had a 4.3. Linda S By the way quite a few toyota-campers member have bought speedometer ratio adapters from this place with good results. Don't have to go there they shipped them. Just need to let them know the model vehicle and how much the speedo is off. https://plus.google.com/103811379957440758304/about?gl=us&hl=en#103811379957440758304/about?gl=us&hl=en
  13. They didn't have the strong radial tires back then that they make now. The wider tire was to give it some extra weight capacity. Now you don't have to worry about that. The d load range tire will be enough. Linda S
  14. If you look for LT tires you won't find the right ones. Just 185r14. No middle number. The guys already gave you many links to find the right ones. If you want to use your tire guy, write down the names of those tires and see what he can get them for. Linda S
  15. Original tires for your Chinook were 185 SR x14.in the front. No I don't know what the SR stands for. Steel radial? Rear tire was 700x14 which is about a 215/75/14. You didn't start out with 15 inch rims in the back just wider 14 inch rims. Plenty of tires in sizes close enough to work that have the right load rating but you need to decide if your going to get matching rims or keep wider ones on the back or get 15 inch ones for the front. All depends on what you do. Linda S Your tire shops lack of ability to find or even know about d load range tires concerns me. If tires are your business you should know tires, not just plug some info into a computer and hope. Nice doesn't always equate to capable Well I read that tire size equivilant for the 700x14 on the Samba but the section width should be 7 inches making it more like a 185r14 tire. See that's why you need a real tire person to find you the best tires Well I still got it wrong. here's a thread on this site describing the correct tire size and some newer size options. http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3037
  16. Maybe some t molding to go between the door and the coach? Linda
  17. Roy I have spent a lot of time looking for something similar for you but no luck. If I find anything I will email your for sure Linda S Finding possibilities. The tube part on this would compress or you could split it. Buy a sample and see how it looks http://greatlakesskipper.com/product/5_320_323-boat-deck-and-docking-trim-lock/23861-tracker-marine-group-tracker-14-inch-cuddy-mate-neutral-gel-white-boat-trim-lock-seal-molding-ft.html
  18. The Sunrader 4x4 on ebay last summer was pulled because it sold. It belonged to a friend of mine. he sold it for 18,500. They are very much in demand and always have lots of buyers waiting for one to show up on the market. Most people don't have your mad skills JD. I would expect if someone had to pay a custom rv shop to put the Chinook on the diesel truck it would cost 10 grand at least. Add the new interior and you've added another 5 grand to the price. There was a custom Sunrader 4x4 on this site a while ago. and I think he paid in excess of 20 grand for the work they did on his coach. Your labor is worth more than you think Linda S
  19. 4x4 Sunraders normally go for 17 to 18 grand. This looks to be in perfect condition and I would say he's right in the ball park on price. This can go a lot of places a 4x4 Sunrader can't. The Expedition Portal guys are not afraid to spend 250,000 on an Earthroamer or Tiger. This is pocket change Linda S
  20. I have only seen a handful of 21ft motorhomes built on the Nissan v6 chassis. 3 or 4 Four Seasons and the same number of Odyssey's. There are about 8 Sunrader like mine but all are the small 18ft model. Still think it's impressive that I have a diff bigger than most f150's. Have heavier deeper dish duallies too. Can fit a 205 tire cause that's what was on it when I bought it and there was room to spare. The whole rig sits higher too. About 2 to 3 inches more clearance underneath making your tanks safer in rough terrain. My Nissan weighs 5000 lbs with water and gas. Linda S
  21. Aren't you comparing apples to oranges. Giant v8 trucks compared to a bitty 3.0 v6. That h260 was never imported to the USA Linda S
  22. Doors are measured from the size of the rough opening. Service desk at Camping World should have told you that. Linda S
  23. My v6 Nissan automatic has of course the switch to turn off overdrive but it also changes the shift points when you do that ,like the Toyota ECT button. On mine it's not extra it's all connected together. Looks like the 84 and 85 might have the 4.375 gear ratio in the c200 rear end. 84 was the first year of the full floater for Nissan but in 86.5 they went to the huge rear diff that I have with a 233mm ring gear.
