  1. That's 80 inches including the side mirrors. My Sunrader is just barely 80 inches wide but side mirrors put it well over the limit. Don't know why but the new Nissan NV van is 82 inches wide including side mirrors but it has no clearance lights. And how about those Hummers. Early Sunraders, up to about 1980 are the same width as mine too and they don't have clearance lights either. Like this Linda S
  2. You are so cool. Anyone else would be having a fit but you just take as a bonus that now you can fix it better. Can't wait to see how it comes out. and all the steps along the way Linda S
  3. I know one Sunader owner who removed and glassed over all the clearence lights. Looked great. I drove my Nissan from New York to California with no working clearence lights and never got stopped or asked about them and drove plenty of those hours at night. Only serious issue I can see with removing them completely is if you ever get in an accident, the insurance company can say you are at fault because you removed the clearance lights and were not visible. Also apparently they are stricter in Canada if you want to visit Linda S
  4. Can you remove the braces you already put on and add some end plates the height of that lip on the edge? Linda S
  5. Well when your done it will be the best condition Sunrader camper in the world. All like new. Linda S
  6. There are fiberglass campers back east.My friend Marc just emailed me yesterday that he picked up a Bigfoot camper for a super price. He's in Connecticut. Constructed the same way a Sunrader camper is but way newer. I have seen some Northern Lite campers back east too. Sunrader camper back east is way more rare. They were made in California and not too many of them big or small Linda S
  7. Look at the pictures here on post number 6. http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=4321 They will show you how to make the rear brakes back off a little. Are you sure your front brakes are engaging at all. If they are shot nothing is going to help but a front brake job. Do you know where your LSVP is set now. To lower rear brake pressure you don't want to wire it up. Just the opposite. you want to lower the bar like in the pics. Be careful and test it close to home Linda S
  8. If you go to the search function at the top right hand corner and type in Mikesta you can find posts dating back to 2006. You must have joined more than once. If you go to your profile and look at your posts they only go back to march 2012. Don't know if everything you have ever written is available though. Check it out and see Linda S
  9. Yes it's for a truck that can be unloaded. Detaching it and wiring it all the way up is the easiest way to get max braking on the rear wheels. It can be bypassed but way more complicated for the novice. As a sidenote, when I adjusted mine I discovered it hadn't been working anyway so I got no noticible results. Many others have though Linda S
  10. Cool that you found that thread. I was looking for it so you could see the inside of the nicely remodeled Sunrader motorhome in post 5 that is basically the same as you camper. Got some good ideas there if you want to look at it Mike. Linda S To Mr Demaris. I think you will be surprised when Mike weighs it. Much less than you think These mini truck campers come with a bathroom and still weigh just a touch over 1000lbs http://www.westlandrv.ca/7.6-Import-Westland.html
  11. very strange cause I'm looking at other online clubs for those trucks and the weight is always a thousand lbs or more higher than yours. Maybe everyone else is wrong Quote from dodge group My truck weighs in at 6,340 with a full tank of fuel. __________________ Stock 4X4 1992 Dodge Cummins Diesel (this is the cummins diesel group) Manual 5 speed, regular cab With a hundred thousand and something miles - and still runs great Maybe he just has a really big gas tank Linda S
  12. It had a stove with oven? The campers made for the Toyota's only had a cook top and tiny fridge. Both of them together only weighed about 40lbs or less. How wide is this thing between the wheel wells? They made these in Toyota size and full size. Makes a big difference in the weight. Linda S
  13. Well at one time I thought I was going to trade up to a Tiger Provan. Not. The thought of getting rid of one of my Sunraders made me feel sick. I get so attached. Tiger is getting sold soon and the Nissan Sunrader will be stored at my daughters in Eureka,Ca for northern trips. Baby, the Toyota stays here in San Jose with me. Price on these things has gone up so much keeping them is a better investment than gold. There's an 86 for sale somewhere back east for 12 grand. Crazy Linda S
  14. No I have never seen any Toyota motorhome made after 1985, meaning 1986 and up without a full float axle. I have seen many older models that the owner clained were newer though. Toyota already knew in 86 that the non full float axles were becoming a problem. There is no way they would have sold 1/2 ton axle to a motorhome manufacturer when they had a 1 ton alternative. Just because the recall didn't happen until 1992 didn't mean they didn't know it was coming. Linda S
  15. Well anything made 1986 or later would have a full float axle. The Suntader Adventure's are pretty rare. 800 is a crazy cheap price. There were some pop tops made by Odyssey into the 90's called a Starlite and they had the v6 engine. Also have seen one Easy Ryder that was an 87 and a pop top Linda S
  16. So your going to chop one of those beautiful vehicles up to put that camper on it? I like Sunrader campers too but I'm speachless. Is that camper the full sized one or for a mini truck. Looks like the big one. Linda S
  17. Well the generator compartment key for my toyota Sunrader fit the door of my Nissan Sunrader which I didn't have. Didn't have any keys for the Nissan except for the truck key and now have all off of my Toyota key ring. Every single one fit somewhere. Kind of scary. Linda S
  18. Like I said.pretty sure that is the only one anywhere but since it came out of a Dodge motorhome there might be quite a few in junk yards somewhere. That seller is Colaws Rv salvage yard. One of the largest rv salvage yards in the country. Wouldn't hurt to ask them if they have anymore like it. You have 2 Sunraders and a Winnie? Sounds like me. 2 Sunraders and a Tiger Provan. Linda S
  19. Well your in luck. it's still available. Posted it on my group a while ago. I know it says Dodge but it's the same as the one on my Sunraders. Ask first if there are keys for it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Motorhome-Entry-Door-Lock-Rv-/261141017441?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3ccd37b361&vxp=mtr Pretty sure this is the only one for sale in America Linda s
  20. Company says repair kits are available for all their systems. Give them a call http://3tsrv.com/T-9%20Repair%20Kits.htm Linda S
  21. I have never seen a Sunrader door latch that looked so new. Does it say Trimark somewhere on those labels? Tacoma Sue a member here had a problem with hers and was able to find a locksnith that could repair it. best case scenario. That model with the dual rotor latches has not been made in a long time. Linda s
  22. Yup looks to have the same wheels, axle and rear duallies as our motorhomes do here in the US. Meant to carry more weight and now you know thats why ours are set up that way. Looking at the chart of GVWR for your regular trucks looks like the best load capacity is around 2500lbs. Cutting it pretty darn close if your adding a motorhome to it. Linda s
  23. If you want lightest weight and super insulated look at this camper build http://thesupercamper.blogspot.com/2006/09/super-camper-construction-begins-nida.html Linda S
  24. I think he might be able to see the logo if he just jacks his rig up and takes the tires off that side. it aims right towards the tire Linda S
