I had a tire that the belt separated on. Mine was in the back and it felt more like a bump, bump but might feel like a wobble if it had been on the front. Stupid tire place that fixed it didn't even see the problem. I had to take the tire off again and inspect it and sure enough it wasn't even round anymore. make sure they examine the tire carefully if they are going to repair it. Walmart can order the correct tires but they usually don't have them in stock. Hope everything goes well for you Linda S

RVIA =USA or CSA=Canada ... Please advise
linda s replied to Nicehobbits's topic in General Discussion
Well considering many of the motorhomes we buy here are made in Canada and those companies are slapping on RVIA seals seems hard to fathom why he doesn't think it's good enough. Here are just the ones from Manitoba. Bet over 99% of their sales are to the US http://www.rvlinks.com/motorhome_manufacturers_canada_manitoba.shtml Linda S -

Got family in Alberta? They are accepting RVIA stickers there now. Derek one of the moderators here brought 2 toy homes into Quebec. Maybe he will have some ideas Linda S -
Not quite. Little Chief has radius corner windows not square and there's an extra curve on the craigslist postings roof. Could be any one of many. Lots of these old ones have single wide wheels in the back. Not as much stress on the axle as the fake duallies but it's still a heavy vehicle on a very old axle. Even regular truck axles can fail after years of wear. Linda S

The fuse for the stop light is the same as the horn on a 78. 79 changed but why don't you just replace all the fuses and see if that helps. Linda S found a picture. right hand side at bottom. this is for 79 through 83 or something

Many manufacturers from that era dissappered long ago. Looks a little like the Dolphins from that era but not quite. Only way to know is to ask the owner if their are still any tags on the vehicles anywhere Linda S

Wow you are a true collector. Sounds like it's time for a tour of our car museums and maybe hit a Barrett-Jackson auction while your here. Linda S

I have fixed pretty large cracks in ABS tanks with good results. First can you access the whole length of the crack. If not tank will need to be removed. If you can first thing to do is drill a small hole at each end of the crack to release pressure and prevent it from cracking further. Then do this Posted 21 May 2011 - 10:10 AM This method works very well. You make a slurry of abs shavings and abs glue. I used a rasp fitting on my drill and ground up a 1 dollar abs fitting I bought at the hardware store. Mix in a disposable foil pan, dollar store. Paint onto area where it's cracked. Press into it very open weave figerglass mat. Paint over again until completely covered. You have to work very quickly so have everything cut to fit and ready. Fiberglass doesn't stick to abs but the open weave supports the abs gunk and your basically making brand new abs over the crack. You will need to mix new pan of shavings and glue probably several times. Gloves and eye coverings are a must. Total cost is very little so worth a try Linda S

It's probably an automatic too so that tranny line was the key. last element needed to get the darn thing out. When I did mine I watched a youtube vid of a professional supposedly showing how to do it. Well he got to the taking it out part and it was all edited out because of swear words and stuff and then they showed hooking it back up. Stamar no it won't come out the top if you have power steering. No way no how Linda S

The windows should be bedded in butyl tape. Has a very sticky play dough consistancy but easy to work with. It will squish out when the window is screwed back down and you just use a putty knife to clean up the edge. Some people use more caulk around the outside after but I don't and 6 years later no leaks. When your ready to do the job get back to us for more detailed info Linda S -
Yes that's a monster of a job. Have you removed the fan cowel. That is a must. Many people just remove the radiator too but I managed getting it out by removing the transmission cooler line on that side and doing a lot of wiggleing. Make sure and block that line with something so you don't lose tranny fluid. It's been a long time since I did mine but probably lower radiator hose on that side too. I can take a look when the sun comes up Linda S Oops just noticed yours is an 89 so probably a v6. I have a 4 cylinder and have no idea if the set up is similar

I've done the wIndows on several; types of motorhomes.. Some of them the screws go on the outside with a rubber insert to cover the screws. The Sunraders have inside trim to screw into. Sometimes just new butyl tape will mean you need a longer screw. Somtimes age means you need a larger diameter screw. You just have to get in there and see what the job needs. manufacturers info doesn't always work 25 years later. Linda S -
Look here are some private Rv parks near June lake. See if any of them have space for you. Just look at A, B, and C https://www.google.com/#q=june+lake+rv+park I often camp on BLM land and never see a ranger or anyone. That might be an option too. Linda S

I disagree with Karin. You shouldn't make it too much thicker but you can use slightly longer screws to attach it if the current ones won't catch. Linda S -

I think you need to reseal the windows to be sure you have stopped any leaks. It's got to come in from the outside somewhere. \ Linda S -
I don't have one but swamp coolers only work well where the climate is dry. In humind weather they just make it more humid and don't really cool. Linda S

NADA stands for National Automobile Dealers association. It is totally scewed to trade in values so they can give us the lowest price possible if you should do something as stupid as trade in a vehicle instead of selling it yourself. I only used it because I know they have original price listed. Linda S

Truck battery is only charged by alternator, not plug in. Don't know what your power system is cause mine doesn't have an on off switch. Lights are 12 volt though and shouldn't need inverter. Power system is usually a converter so you can charge 12 volt battey from 110 volt. Linda S
