skuffner
Just picked up my first RV a few months back (1987 Toyota Sunrader - 21'). The RV was sitting for about 10 years and needed some work done to get it running (now it runs like a champ). I'm not sure what it is worth, although I got it for almost nothing. ---------- Specifications ---------- Miles - 024,702 Engine - 22RE Model - RKB (rear kitchen bath - see photo below) length - 21 feet ---------- Things I had to do ---------- 1) Drop the fuel tank and flush with muriatic acid (this is the 27 gal tank, so I wanted to keep this on instead of purchasing a smaller new tank). 2) Fuel pump 3) Fuel filter 4) Flushed fuel lines 5) Oil. 6) Other small things ---------- Things that do not work ---------- The only thing on the RV that does not work is the Fridge. The freezer will get cold, although It is inconsistent and will not cool the entire fridge (this is the same with either propane or plugged in). I'm assuming it is the cooling system and a loss. ---------- Pictures ---------- Edited August 16, 2018 by skuffner

Lucky guy Linda S I probably have $1,000-$1,500 invested (total for everything RV/parts/registration). Now i'm just trying to do some small upgrades as I go. And thank you! I see in your profile picture that you have roof rack cargo carrier. Would you recommend getting one of those or a hitch rack from your experience with it? I'm torn between the two (leaning towards hitch rack for accessibility). Thanks!
Bikemike
I have a roof rack and two cargo boxes up there with a bumper/hitch mounted bike rack and I really like this set up. Light weight (ideally), bulky things upstairs and two bikes on the back. It still fits nicely in most parking spots and doesn’t seem to affect the mileage. The fridge will take a while to get cold and their efficiency is affected by ambient temperature and level. Running a 12v fan on the lower “intenstines” of the cooling system will help in hot weather. We ruined our 30 year old dometic two way by regularly running it while the camper was not level. Expensive mistake. Just had a new three way dropped off in the driveway from pplmotorhomes.com. Nice rig!
