  1. 21' 1987 RBR minicruiser 22RE auto. usually resides in southern Maine and New England. Currently in Denver CO and soon to be in Chico CA.
  2. I installed some pergo as well. the stuff is super cheap, thin, and durable! there were a few places that I put in some thin strips of wood to level it all off. and in the end, I think theres only 2 screws attaching it all down. If you get the fit right, no screws are really necessary at all!
  3. I was amazed at how easily this stuff cuts with a circular saw, sawzall, tin snips, or even scoring with a utility knife.
  4. From what I've read, the V6 tranny locks the clutches/converter when OD is used, this actually reduces the transmission temp. With the 22R/RE however, the clutches never lock and causes excess wear and heat which could reduce the life of the tranny. So IMO... V6 = use OD whenever you like, 4cyl = use sparingly if ever.
  5. As others have said, these usually have an altitude sensor that kicks it out of OD at a certain altitude. When I first got my rig, I would occasionally use OD down hills. However, after further research, I have decided to keep it out of OD all together. The cost of replacing the OD clutches far outweighs the minor mpg savings IMHO. Just one opinion amongst the masses.
  6. I sometimes confuse the pounds and gallons when doing LP. The most my tank has ever got in it was 11 gallons and I thought it was a 10 gallon tank. As someonelse said, the pilot light keeps hot water, so that saves some gas. I find in the summer that one 10 gallon fill-up lasts about two months running the fridge full time and using the water heater and stove/oven daily. in the winter with the space heater on it lasts me a bit less than a month.
  7. Nothin that hasnt been said but, My '87 22RE was runnin hot (around 3/4) so I thoroughly flushed the system and added japanese anti-freeze. Its been staying under the 1/2 mark ever since.
  8. My 21' 1987 22RE auto has been getting about 17mpg cruising at 50ish mph. Going 65mph brings it down to 12.5mpg. My girlfriend, olde english bulldogge, and I dont have too much trouble fitting in it. hope this helps.
