How far are things separated? House battery, engine battery and Dc2Dc charger?

Starter battery is in the usual place on this truck: passenger side, near the grille. Coach battery is in the plastic, external box that Winnebago provided, also passenger side, just aft of the coach entry door. I’d say the two batteries are separated by about 6-8ft. There’s currently a 10ga charging wire that runs from the isolator (under hood) back/down to the battery box; that charging wire is in good shape and looks original.

I replaced our house battery and updated all the charging cables, new charge controller.

      I used a Victron 12-12 30A non-isolated converter, and a 100ah lifepo4 battery.

Also used a ‘94 Jaguar 120A alternator that barely fits, uses the same plug on back. Then put on new larger power/ground cables to replace the small ones that came on it. Used 6awg welding cable for the Victron and house battery runs. Had to get a nice crimping setup for all the connections.

Sounds like a very nice setup. I’m looking at a similar, but simpler, upgrade but am just not sure where to mount the Victron yet, as mentioned. I do have a small, lower cabinet in the coach that is directly above the coach battery (coach battery lives in an external box just aft of the entry door).  I kind of hate to drill through the floor for cable runs but might be the best place for the Victron, inside that cabinet, although I’d think that ventilation might be a problem. 🤔
