      You want the gear reduction starter. There are two starters made to fit that engine. The cheaper of the two has a larger case, and the battery cable connection for the solenoid has the wrong orientation.

       

      You don’t need to go to rock auto. Autozone or Advanced Auto will be able to get that starter. Last time I replaced mine it was about $100.00.

      If you buy local, it’s much easier to return/exchange if you get the wrong item.

    • go to rock auto. enter your truck. thats the starter you need.
