I'll be on the lookout for some axles!

You need axle shafts that fit your truck. Toyota made 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton axles. The two sets are not interchangeable. Most pickups use the 1/2 ton axle. The 3/4 ton axle was used primarily in cab and chassis applications (i.e. motorhomes).

This is where your VIN becomes important. It will list what axle you have. Armed with the factory part number you are good to go.

I recommend buying new. Any used axle shafts that fit probably came out of another motorhome.

Plan on new wheel bearings and seals. The bearings are press fit to the shaft. None can be reused.

    • New axles if possible, next choice is used axles off the lowest mileage pickup you can find.

In either choice 10 psi more in the inner tire.
