Big day today.  This morning, I took a couple hundred pounds of Sunrader stuff to the dump I'd kept until the remodel was near  completion.  I suggest you keep things around like cabinet doors, and the side panels from the sleeper, I also kept the power panel and its integrated converter(?).  The side panels saved me hours a couple days ago by serving as templates to cut the new sleeper side panels (fabric and foam) as but one example.  Then, I fired up the mighty 22R and my son and I took it around the block just to blow out the cobwebs.  Filthy - it has not been washed for perhaps decades.  There is moss growing out of the headlamps, etc.

It was time to move it from the long term project location on the side of the house (gravel), out to the driveway where I could put it on jackstands safely on concrete to finish things up, then perform mechanical work to get it ready for our trip on the 25th.  That was huge.  No longer an abstract concept.  It's now in the driveway.

Today I finished upholstering the sleeper, then repaired a sleeper screen (it's simple - ask your father how. Takes 10 minutes). I also glued wood blocks in place on the cabinet openings where the latches will go. 

I was amazed the engine fired right up after not running for a couple years.  My son helped by firing starter fluid in the carb, but said the engine caught just before he sprayed.  Nice.  I put the front on jackstands, and removed the wheels to drop them at the tire shop tomorrow.  I won't have time to swap the rear axle for this trip, so the original tires will have to do.  We are only going about 40 minutes away and I'll deflate the outer dually a bit to reduce pressure on the axle, and we will keep the speeds low. 

I turned on the propane and had an immediate leak.  It's all new but the new valve was defective.  I bought a new one at Home Depot and lit the stove to confirm all is well.  I have already installed a new propane/CO detector down low, and an RV smoke detector on the ceiling by the sleeper. A whole bunch of stuff will be delivered by Amazon over the next couple days - 30 amp power cord, thick battery cables for the 314 amp hour battery, etc.  The carpet arrives Friday.  I also installed the solar wire glands - screwing them into the side of the roof, and put down some self leveling Dicor on the two new roof sewer vents.  So a productive day.

Very excited for this phase. Very excited.  My wife comes home tomorrow from a several week trip, but I don't want to let her see the interior until the carpet is in place.  Then it will all come together!

Got the sleeper almost completely upholstered. Will finish the front wall, then bring the mattress materials out and mark and cut the mattress to shape.  Ceiling worked out great, and the troublesome transition from sleeper ceiling to the taller rear area ceiling also was a win.  I had no idea what to do with the space, and this marine hull liner was perfect as it slightly stretches in both dimensions - perfect for covering that uneven and odd shaped surface.
